  1. Banned for beautiful art that went unnoticed. Look at Mr. Toadie banging out reps @ 135LBs + ~5000 extra pounds from dog heads
  2. I would like to do the same honestly, since historically the VRM used to get a good dose of airflow via the CPU heatsinks fan. They can still get pretty toasty under load.. I know this thread is about the rig but being more of a software type.. "database DLSS analysis tasks" that sounds really arcane to me. You're using AI to analyze large databases using 2 monster GPUs? Is this some program you wrote? Top secret black bag ops ? is my name in these databases?
  3. I feel I've seen this rig before. Of course, I think Orca is a work of art. Is that fan above the CPU block for some airflow on the VRM? edit ahhh sorry, just got to your post further down in the thread and saw it's for the VRM. Just never noticed that before
  4. IN Serious_Don I'm confused. How am I supposed to go back in time to fold on April 3rd???
  5. I used to lift 2 hours a day up until 2014. Was a maniac with it. Just kind of fell right off when I moved here. Didn't have anybody to go to a gym or walk with I guess, and still don't .. It's amazing what 6 years of sitting and SAD diet will do to you. Have had enough though, getting that in order. Attempting to lift that sink would certainly blow out an artery at this point , but deaf n dum leo could do it (not that he's really deaf, but he has an amazing penchant for not hearing anything anybody says, unless it's food related) I love that movie. Think I'll give it a watch for anxiety reductions tonight. BAN
  6. No longer fasting. Did it as a challenge with some friends who are all (including me) in need of hitting reset and getting back on track on proper diets and exercise, transitioned from that fast over to a whole food plant based diet for a little while. Will reintroduce some lean meats in due time... Threw out the salty garbage and sugar filled drinks. The claim according to the research I was shown is that the fasting period will lower insulin and blood pressure and give your taste buds a kick so you enjoy proper food a bit more. Some of them are looking to go beyond 48 hours but 2 days is all I was willing to do at home. I used an electrolyte powder in my drinks twice a day to make sure I didn't have any issues. ban
  7. You would surely be entertained by my mental state alone. I just water fasted for 48 hours. Cortisol and people with stress disorders go together like dynamite and an electrical fire. (oh my god my sense of smell went NUTS) ban
  8. You have great memory to recall which ward I'm in I have the memory of a toad which may be good or bad, we'll never know ban
  9. Nurse Ratched is waiting for E in ward 18. But first, Medication time Gus feels left out ban
  10. banned cuz hey good point, me & gus & leo are practicing social distancing
  11. Haha. Guess all three of us are eggheads. Is that beard stubble or acne on my face ban
  12. Banned cuz sorry leo Leo and Gus, if I have to diet they have to diet too!!!
  13. Hello sir and welcome to the EHW bandom. Those are some fine puppies in your photographs, if I may say so. EHW BANNED
  14. There is a mod that will enable vr in single player, but I was talking about big screen. You can go into a virtual theater room (or space ship or whatever you like) and inside is a gigantic movie screen. You can watch movies or put your pc desktop on it and play any normal game you like. It feels like youre playing the game on a 300 inch tv that way
  15. I was rocking in the chair playing diablo 2 on a titanic fake movie theater screen with keyboard and mouse E. , you just have to be pretty good at knowing your keyboard since you cant see it.. which I think most of us here have no problem with. Did GTA V with a controller too, that was what made me decide id prefer one of the high res VR kits, oculus rift was a little fuzzy on the text playing that was and words on the corners of the screen a but blurry, hopefully the index or hp reverb g2 have better sweet spot and crisper image.
  16. It's absolutely unbelievable. I can't believe some people hate on it so much. Maybe some people just have issues perceiving it properly? Totally felt like I was in another universe.. To tow the party line though, I would like higher res and a bit more FOV than the headset I tried. Was thinking the upcoming HP Reverb G2 may be the one for me (if price is reasonable). Definitely going to own VR soon though. Which is obviously going to push me towards a GPU that can handle it.
  17. I did experience VR for the very first time in my life today, so naturally my resistance level to upgrading to a 3000 series card has been dropped significantly. 3080 ti + 2160x2160 headset should be a sight to behold
  18. I'm completely undecided on the future of my GPU. Just going to sit back and see what happens like most, since prices are just too extreme for my modest gaming habits anymore. 1) RTX 3000 pricing.. 2) AMD... Will they finally pull their heads out of the sand like they did on the CPU side of things? Good GPU w/ good drivers? I doubt it yet, but we'll see. My budget for a video card is $399-499, so I'll take whoever puts out the better (....and more stable *cough cough AMD*) card in my range. It sucks that my budget feels very entry level now. I'd also like to see a bit of a drop in price on xx70 tier Nvidia cards. Everybody remembers the 1080Ti for it's incredible, long lasting performace, but forget a card like the GTX 970 that was affordable and offered incredible value, pretty much matching or beating the 780Ti for way less money. RTX 2070 launch price missed this a bit IMO.
  19. Banned cuz you said troll 4 times in two sentences. That's not legal on EHW. This is now my forum
  20. I think the event itself went totally fine and was lots of fun (minus the constant WU outages, but we can't fix that). My only curiosity is how prizes can be distributed a bit better, but not sure it can really be "fair". Simmons for example put up a phenomenal amount of points, nearly 30 million, but some of us managed to come close to him in raffle entries with 1/10 of his point output or less. I think I put out 2 million and got more than 1/3 of the WUs simmons got. Obviously good news for me, but bad for a guy with a mega rig! That said, if you go for points alone, then people with the high end folding rigs would win every single raffle. Not really staging a complaint, just thinking out loud. I'm sure I've answered my own question in that there's no way to distribute things more cleanly.
  21. Banned cuz EHW bandom needs more trolls. I feel that ocn bandom is more successful because of the butt nuggets that make everyone angry. Somebody at the pook quick Banning myself for calling an off topic rant thread a success. What has become of hardware forums. How do I unscramble my brain and go back to being an actual hardware enthusiast. I can't wait for the 7800GTX to launch. It's gonna own. Dangit wrong decade
  22. I bet these chips will be in 4790k performance territory too. This is great news for people who like to shop used old parts that are still useful. Would be hard to convince me to buy your used 4c/8t i7 + board + ram for any more than $150ish now when i can spend barely over 200 for brand new amd parts i am assuming these are mattisse dies, I know they made some 2000 series parts that were actually 1000 series under the hood.
  23. Ouch dude. Hope you're feeling better. Too young to be living in a chiropractors office Ban
  24. I do it all the time, adding a second kit later when I need more memory. Its generally not suggested because the memory manufacturer, afaik, historically wouldn't guarantee all 4 sticks would function at rated specs and they likely aren't tested that way in QVL for your motherboard. The only potential issue is the memory controller, there have been times where either more voltage or looser timings are required to run all 4 sticks at rated speed, however I haven't had that happen since DDR2 / intel core.. so I'd say go for it
