  1. lmao I haven't been able to keep up with the forums for a few days and I missed it, but was folding as usual. Whoops!
  2. Some friends got me FH5 for Christmas and I have yet to try it. I know the game itself is pretty solid, but do any of you guys know if the multiplayer is stable yet? Last I heard, there were a lot of connection issues when trying to play with specific friends, but that was a while ago.
  3. Doesn't look too bad for a printer with no tuning past bed leveling. I had honestly completely forgotten about this thread. I should collect some pictures of my recent prints, had a couple good ones recently.
  4. Personally I prefer the look of pastel coolant, but if you're not going that route, I think silver fittings and matte black blocks that would match the case would look really nice. A full nickel blocks might be a bit much but that depends on GPU mounting and how visible everything ends up being. Looks awesome so far!
  5. HAH! I just thought to check r/datahoarder about this and found what must be your comment. I'm glad communities like that exist to archive sites that shut down.
  6. Oh, gotcha. I originally misinterpreted what you meant, but that makes sense.
  7. Yeah I'm trying to justify it to myself in the sense that it's a mini PC as well. If all you could do with it was game, it absolutely wouldn't be worth it for me either.

  9. As someone who's never messed with this sort of stuff myself, what extra benefits would you get out of a dedicated mounting system? Very cool though, thanks for sharing.
  10. Glad to get more info on it. The more I see news and new details, the more excited I get for it! Glad I made a deposit some months back.
  11. As someone who does composites work somewhat regularly, I absolutely love that carbon fiber frame. I'd be thrilled to be able to purchase it separately, but whether or not I'd actually cough up the money for one is an entirely different question. Really like this concept overall for what it is.
  12. I've used CableMod in the past and had all positive experienced, and started looking at their stuff first this time around as well. I found that SoloSleeving has a much wider variety of options, and for cable extensions rather than full kits, is a good bit cheaper. Additionally, CableMod just started what is evidently their annual warehouse overhaul or something, so orders placed roughly throughout the month of Febuary will be delayed by at least a month or so. I don't have a deadline for getting cables in, so CableMod might end up being what I fall back on if I don't hear anything from SoloSleeving by 4-6 weeks from now.
  13. Just wondering if anyone has had an experience with SoloSleeving's custom cables and their wait time to place an order. Yeah, you have to pop in your email to get added to a wait list before you can even order anything, and there's no ETA. Just wondering what the ballpark is. Weeks? Months? Over a year? I have no idea what to expect and didn't find much when Googling around. Figured I'd take a shot here.
  14. Personally, I'm not too concerned with that much downtime for this month. I'm already having a pretty mediocre month since my actual folding rig isn't up, so that PC will be getting some downtime as I use it for other stuff occasionally. But, if it's convenient to swap for that intermediate period, I certainly wouldn't stop you.
  15. Won the Shuffle yesterday. Should I have actually made the purchase? Probably not. Did I? Well here I am, posting in this thread.
  16. Got a wee bit of snow when I took the Alltrack up to Kentucky last week.
  17. Another tweak I thought of today, and this may be better suited for another thread: reformatting the rig listings under posts to show more than 8 parts in less space. Just could be a little more space efficient, but that's a pretty nitpicky thing.
  18. Thank you @Hacksword for coming onboard and thank you @BWG for keeping us organized as always! When I was home with my 24/7 folding rig I intended to do a CPU/mobo swap from the ancient FX4300/970A to my old 1600X/X370. Lots of snags though, I failed to realize that I didn't have an AM4 bracket for the cooler I intended to use, I didn't have any available DDR4, and some other small details as well. Worked around everything but the final issue, which is that my remote software just wasn't interested in working after reinstalling Windows. I ran out of time to troubleshoot and had to return to my apartment two hours away. So that PC just isn't running right now. As a result, I'm running on a 2080 Ti that is in my apartment currently. I'm planning on returning home in a week or so to fix that, then we'll be 24/7 again. Anyways, the OP has been updated to reflect Hacksword's entry and my GPU swap as well.
  19. Ding ding ding! This is super important. I was a wee little lad (sort of) when I joined OCN back in 2013 and I'm sure I made plenty of dumb posts, but I learned an obscene amount about PCs and more during just my first year there. The teaching vs banning thing is huge.
  20. Some cheap low profile RAM and a birthday gift for a friend: a repair manual for his 9th gen F150 that just threw a rod. I don't even care if he doesn't use it himself, it's worth the joke.
  21. You guys are nuts, congrats on the milestones!
  22. To what degree were you thinking about DIY-ing? I'm currently of the mindset that hotswappable switch-capable boards are the happy medium since they don't require any soldering or intensive assembly, but allow you to replace faulty switches or change things up without having to purchase an entirely new board. Many hotswappable boards are also RGB, with the LEDs on the PCB of the board, so any switch is effectively RGB-compatible (but of course some are better than others since not all switches have translucent housings). A note on o-rings though, I tried them on a board I had with Gateron browns (very similar to Cherry browns) to quiet it down even more, and while it was a bit quieter, it completely destroyed the feel. Very mushy, and not much better than a rubber dome. I'll be extremely hesitant to use o-rings in the future. I'm sure others have had better experiences, and hopefully someone here has and will pipe up about it, but I'm not sure if you'd be terribly satisfied with that solution.

  24. Absolutely absurd, and there's no kill like overkill. What will you be using it for?
