  1. Nice and Welcome to EHW. Man the memories that come flying back to me with reading the first post. Good days. The plans for the build look great, looks like you have put some serious thoughts into it, enough to model it out with Sketchup (Solidworks man myself). Depending on how much of a gamer you are or how many games you keep installed at any one time, possibly consider a larger nvme for the games drive.
  2. Ha! If only I could blank cheque things.
  3. Yowzer ! Nice going. Not folding at the moment until I get my first electricity bill for this new property so I can better gauge things.
  4. Maybe your wishes could come true bud...will have t get their attention haha. Haha yeah that would be grand actually.
  5. I doubt all core 5ghz OC will happen, not without silly v-core. Im skipping this gen mainly as It does not offer me much over the 3950 and next super build will be when DDR5 has matured a little
  6. Yeah it is not ideal at all and they should put in some caveats that still allow you access to oculus should you decide to leave Facebook or you get banned. As you say though, it is all about the pull factor to the Facebook and monetizing. From a business standpoint it is a "good" move but from a community point of view...poor.
  7. I am hoping so. Did see an article today :https://www.thefpsreview.com/2020/10/23/amd-radeon-rx-6800-xt-edges-out-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-in-new-benchmarks/ If that is true then that is great...if the 6900XT can match the 3080 for the most part, then 6900XTX may be the card to have.
  8. I know what you mean with respect to the Nvidia driver suite being more "basic". For me, not too much of an issue. Like anything, so long as its doing its job and they are stable, I am happy.
  9. Hmmm while this sucks, at the end of the day they have ownership and call the shots. This of course is poor for those who adopted oculus prior to the FB purchase and in a perfect world they would not be subject to this policy. Again this is the drawback of all digital platforms...you remove your account and all those games are gone. I choose to look at it as extended renting as you don't really own anything.
  10. Great minds and all that. A dual GPU could be interesting, assuming they overcome microstutter as was seen in the past I think I that is a concern, at least from the gamers viewpoint.
  11. You sound like a person who enjoys some form of balance ! The only other thing that concerns me with any new AMD GPU is the drivers.Granted I would need to get renewed feedback as have not had an AMD GPU for a good while. Last time I had a poor experience of the drivers.
  12. Ahh my home city ! Hope you enjoyed the views ! I have been thinking of upgrading to 64gb Ram and this game may help push me over the edge lol
  13. There is always something ! Just when you think you have everything lol. As for the GPU, I would recommend waiting until 2021. Not only will the Nvidia 3000 series be getting a blatant refresh, even more if that only means going to TSMC 7nm, but the new AMD GPU offerings will have had time to air as well. Im not buying till 2021 for these reasons...that and im saving specifically for a 3090 at this point.
  14. I have banned small sweet children just for smiling, this will be easy.
  15. Intel have some deep digging to do and quickly, assuming they don't want to sit in second place for too long. Love that the underdog is coming back BUT as always we need competition to keep prices in order, does us no good if AMD were to easily hold the crown.
  16. That is actually not that bad considering the fact its a laptop. Nice going.
  17. Well for you it is a no brainer if AMD bring their game and at a realistic price, the latter which in my mind is a given compared to Nvidia.
  18. Thanks for all the additional recommendations guys. We are still a little delayed on the sample we were going to work with for this roundup but we are hoping to get to it as soon as possible
  19. I think I ran into that at one point. I think you can drag to re-order the partitions order when in the resize section. I will take a look tomorrow if you still struggle.
  20. I just wish that AMD did as well in hardware acceleration as Nvidia with respects to transcoding and other accelerated applications. Cuda is still king in this area and that also factors into my buying decisions, otherwise I would be on AMD so fast.
