  1. Been here before when it comes to Windows and drivers, it is one of the smallest but most annoying snags as it can stop you in your tracks ! Complete plain. That being said I would imagine you can achieve what you need to under client Windows 10 ? That or use Windows 10 to test and bench the system and then you can look into getting server 2019 now...or later when price is more agreeable.
  2. Hey guys, A quick one. I have two NAS devices. My first NAS has 2x 1Gb ports that I would like to setup in link aggregation to improve throughput a little. My second NAS has 2x 10Gb ports but I would like to utilise only one of the 10Gb ports. Is there a device that will essentially convert a 2x 1Gb port link aggregation setup and then send it down just the one cable to the 10Gb Port. I have done a lovely paint illustration to explain a little better. Thanks in advance !
  3. LSI controllers...or any controller for that fact that is dealing with the traffic of multiple devices tend to run on the hotter side. It still surprised me that we do not see these more actively cooled, or at the very leas a more capable passive cooling solution.
  4. It is a real shame that there past mistakes have not been corrected, leading to the same poor practices here and now. With this behavior spanning across multiple reps over a good distance of time, one has to assume that these poor ethics are part of the MSI Rep training. Hopefully they can correct this behavior.
  5. Would be nice if they didn't change the socket for obvious reasons but it is likely that they will for naming convention and possibly technical reasons.
  6. Yeah it is just from personal experience, if I need to run my Gskill Trident Z at 1.5v, it will do it all day everyday, but again these are Samsung B-Die. Mileage will vary but yeah for non B-Die I would tend to stick for 1.45v
  7. Have you tried just applying the settings on the main page of the calculator and not the settings on the Advanced page ? Speaking from personal experience, sometimes applying some of the more granular settings can actually be more trouble than they are worth. I tend to "cheat". I apply the main page settings and let the motherboard take care of the rest. Also to remove voltages as a factor I tend to set my ram to 1.45 - 1.5v, at least while testing to see if the proposed settings will even work. SOC I set to 1.1v I also set the VDDG CCD, IOD andtand CLDO VDDP to1.1 across the board, again for testing. You could reduce them later if you wish.
  8. Watercooling components are killer for adding weight. No idea how much my workstation weighs, but its certainly much heavier now with all the WC gear, not to mention a full mobo coverage block.
  9. Blimey...when it rains it pours eh. Intel are going to be desperate to get past this 7nm phase.
  10. Nice, love the run through of the AIO flush and re-fill, never played with an AIO so far as taking one apart, never own one long enough to justify it, that being said it does give you a great buz when you can re-work something and bring it back to life !
  11. No problems ! Getting the right kit is always the best base to work from, like you have probably heard, go for Samsung B die and the your luck again
  12. That is a heavy boy, but to be expected, not surprised you have to reinforce the rack to accommodate, crumbs you would not want that falling to a heap on the floor !
  13. The proof is not definitive. I gathered it may be Hynix-m as I got a few hits for that chip type when looking at your kit. I did also check : https://benzhaomin.github.io/bdiefinder/ which seems to indicate that your kit is possibly not Samsung B-die at the very least, however may be a different Samsung variant. I have also checked out the Gskill RAM compatibility with your board and cannot see your RAM kit : https://www.gskill.com/configurator?...del=1531907318 . This should however have no bearing on Thaiphoons ability to read the RAM, but it is just a heads up that possibly you will have a more awkward time with your RAM kit on this board possibly due to a lack of compatibility. That being said I do believe that you are using Hynix-m only from what I have read on the internet, there is also another list here : https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comment...nfusion_eg_on/ It reference a very similar module to yours (16gb rather than your 8GB) but states it is Hynix-M Are you using SAFE or FAST presets ? I have to admit those are some tight timings it is suggesting with respect to the overall speed you are looking to achieve. I would look at using the SAFE option and if that is what is showing currently, I would certainly loosen those primary timings. I would give 15,15,15,15,24 a go or failing that 16,16,16,16,34. I assume you are also inputting the other calculator variables such as the Termination block/Cad Bus etc ?
  14. That is looking sexy, glad that you got it up and running, that first boot is always nerve wracking haha.
  15. Out of interest are you running any other sensor related apps in the background as these can interfere with Thaiphoon burner etc. However upon some searching it looks like your RAM is hynix m die.
  16. Lucky you lol I do not tend to fold on my main rig as I tend to be working or gaming on it, so not much space for Folding, so that fortunately/unfortunately will bot be a factor in my purchase which is kind of good as it does not make me feel guilty going for a GPU that may not be all that fab at folding but fine for everything else haha.
  17. Yeah I am looking forward to getting it crunching !
  18. Hello all, Small update just in case anyone was wondering. This project is still live. The only delay right now is we going through the process of moving, as such right now there is no space for me to reliably set up the CFP. Rest assured that once I am moved in, this will go live. Unfortunately this will be the 3rd house purchase attempt we have been through. First one had too many issues so we had to pull out. The second one was just about to finish, but the sellers pulled out as Covid hit (Thanks Covid). Now we are on our third attempt which fingers crossed is going to go through, so far so good. Just wanted to give an update on this Thanks all
