  1. Get better soon bud! We will be thinking of you
  2. Nice coverage of the 4090 bud. Glad it is working out for you They are super cards for sure. I personally have decided to hang on to my 3090 for now. Realistically the 4090 doesn't offer me anything that my 3090 cannot do. I used to have a habit of climbing the ladder every time a new GPU was out, more than when a new CPU came out but over the years I have realised that for the cost, there is little return on that investment. That being said I have locked myself in on my current build until I move up to AM5, so if I consider a GPU upgrade it will be then. The other thing that put me off this gen....that power connector man. As far as I am concerned it is fairly shoddy design and im hoping that next gen they have a sensible revision. Nvidia really did not spend enough time on it.
  3. Nice! Thanks for sharing bud. I know when I went from Air to WC on my 3090, what a difference in temps, night and day. Still a toasty card mind you but not as toasty as it once was lol.
  4. 3x Tesla M40 Cards officially shipped! I think each of these guy 900K PPD last time I checked. Every little helps.
  5. I was never a fan of the new connector. Cramming all that power down into a single point was just screaming for trouble and I wondered when we would start seeing these issues. Furthermore this problem will only get worse with Overclocking. I would take a longer GPU with 3x8 Pin connection points any day. As far as im concerned I would rather balance the load over 3x connections rather than cram it down one cable. I think that this was rushed by Nvidia and perhaps should have consulted with the AIB's/ well known enthusiasts to discover potential problems like this. Sure I could maybe see this connection being fine on the founders edition, but not the enthusiast level cards. Im hoping they revise this, even if keeping the same cable form factor, they should look to load balance over at least 2x connectors to mitigate overload/overheating. Im not an electronic engineer and im sure others know much more on the topic but I would think most of this is common sense.
  6. Nice rigs for their respective purposes, should serve you well for a while. Don't forget to input them into Rig Creator
  7. Congratulations to the winners! Very well deserved.
  8. I have decided I will send you my last three Tesla M40 Compute cards. These would be best served on a test bench/open air. They are hard to cool, rest assured that the thermal compound and thermal pads have all been replaced, you just need to make sure the rear fans are attached and running full blast... depending on your ambient. Are you happy to take em ?
  9. Nice. I knew I had seen them before but my Google Fu was weak and couldn't find it. Thanks bud.
  10. I was always of the mind that someone would eventually bypass what is an arbitrary driver lock out. Would be interesting to see if a steady modified set of drivers to do this was made available...or the method to do so was easy enough.
  11. Cheers bud, Now to also get: PHOBYA PCI SLOT COVER 4PIN MOLEX AND 3X 4PIN PWM FAN PLUG Aqua Computer Octo Aqua Computer Octo USB Cable (Standard USB) This allows me to connect the OCTO to the PC for Power as well as for USB (For Aqua suite control). However I need to get a Male to Male Molex cable to connect from the Molex on the Phobya PCI Bracket to the OCTO. I have only had a quick look and cannot seem to easily fine one. Any one seen those ?
  12. Awesome. Let me see if I can get some Tesla GPU's to you. Gotta keep boosting our points!
  13. Welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay with us and become a regular
  14. I would have to measure my output but I never bothered as I know the bottleneck in the NAS for my RAW data storage would always be the HDD's. I supplement them with cache drives on the SSD side and of course the ZFS Caching. Thats why TrueNas shines when you have lots of RAM, the ZFS Caching can be a real help. My NAS runs over 10Gb but that's not because I know I will be able to come close to saturating it, but I know 1Gb could potentially hold me back. That and my overall network is 10Gb and I like to have all devices on one standard...but that's just personal preference.
  15. Looks like an interesting product. The fact the PCie 5 NVMe drives get as hot as they do and live is amazing. @Avacadosomething for us to review perhaps ?
  16. Is this something you would get separately from the GPU backplate as I didn't see anything mentioned on the item description about custom design. Also I am happy to provide a high res EHW Logo if that is a direction you want to to in.
  17. Hey guys. Thanks for the feedback. I have also checked out the Alphacool products and they seem very comparable and a good amount cheaper. I may consider the list to go with as the following... ALPHACOOL NEXXXOS XT45 FULL COPPER 1080MM NOVA RADIATOR ALPHACOOL NEXXXOS NOVA 1080 MM FAN HOUSING - BLACK PCI SLOT PASS-THROUGH BRACKET Arctic P12 Pressure Optimised 120mm Chassis Fan KOOLANCE QD3 NO-SPILL QUICK RELEASE FEMALE ONTO 13 / 10MM KOOLANCE QD3 NO-SPILL QUICK CONNECT MALE STRAIGHT ON 13/10MM PHOBYA PCI SLOT COVER 4PIN MOLEX AND 3X 4PIN PWM FAN PLUG Aqua Computer Octo Aqua Computer Octo USB Cable (Standard USB) Now just need to find the most tidy fan controller and way to power the fans. By the way, first time ive used QD fittings, did I pair the male and female correctly?
  18. Im not a fan of the "Let's just juice it up" mentality either. Yes I recognize that full throttle performance comes with cost with respect to power consumption but we are headed into my nuts territory. Soon you will need nothing short of AC in the office to help keep ambient temps down so you don't end up a sweaty mess. Granted my office is dinky but the temps my 3090 kicks out after a good gaming session... not good. The back of the card is nothing but an egg cooking machine lol.
  19. If Nvidia continues this power trend, you will soon need scaffolding inside the PC just to support the GPU. That is crazy!
  20. I look forward to the benches bud. It will be a similar config to mine after your upgrade. I never really benched it as it started serving my NAS immediately.
  21. Hello all, I need some guidance. So I am looking to play with the Mo-Ra3 PRO. I have a few questions. 1. Does anyone know of a decent PCI-Bracket that has the G1/4 Compression fittings on ? I am looking to run my current tubing out the back of my PC to the Mo Ra, with out having to go DIY on my case. 2. I am also looking to use Quick Disconnect fittings . So I am thinking for the inside of the PCI Bracket, will be be normal fittings and the outside Quick Disconnect so it is easy enough to disconnect the case from the Mo-Ra, even possible ? 2. How are people powering and controlling the fans which will go on the Mo-Ra, outside of the case ? Trying to think of something relatively neat. 3. I have seen the Arctic 12 Fans mentioned before, would these be a good match ? That is all for now haha. Thanks, E
