  3. Hello all, We have just gone through a major platform upgrade based on IPS latest release 4.7.0. During the upgrade, there were a couple of hiccups during the process but we are back up and running.   4. Hello all, We had a small hiccup with a major platform upgrade. However this has now been fixed bar a few smaller tweaks. Please note that if you see anything odd at all, please come back to me and I can have it fixed. Our site index is also rebuilding, so performance will be a little slower and counters for things like unread comments, messages etc may not appear true for a while until the index finishes rebuilding.   6. The last couple of weeks have been super busy at work as im the only one in the department due to a member if staff leaving. I have been a little zapped haha Thanks:) So far as Donations vs Costs, What I can say is we are in a better place. I have not said down though and done the math to see where we are but I will and will let everyone know

  8. Hello all. We are looking for an individual to with great interpersonal skills to head up and lead our review team. You would need to have the time and patience to work with our current and future reviewers and work with them on sourcing products for review while respecting each individuals review capabilities whether it be skill or technical limitations. Our review team consists of members from ExtremeHW with varying abilities and interests. As part of this position it is crucial to make sure that each review sourced or presented, be assigned to the right reviewer to ensure not only quality content but to also respect reviewer. All our reviews are held on our Homepage which is based on WordPress. Previous experience in the WordPress platform would help you to start out, but not essential as full training will be provided! I will be available to support as always Position Details To be in frequent contact with our reviewer team to ensure that all current and upcoming reviews go smoothly and to ensure our reviewers are as well equipped as possible to complete articles. Be the main contact for our partners with respect to receiving review requests or when speaking with our partners to source products. Maintain fantastic relationships with our current vendors as well as being proactive in creating new relationships to expand on review possibilities. Work with the editor to ensure timely editing of reviews prior to going live. Ensure that completed reviews are promoted on our Social Media outlets in good time. Expectations To maintain positive working relationships with the review team & our vendors. Ensuring the quality of the content is maintained and that our review guides and protocols are followed. Be active to answer any questions from the team in order to help and support them. Ensure that we are approaching vendors for new products frequently and following up on press released announcing new products that we can jump on. Perks This is a voluntary position. You will have the opportunity to gain an insight into and first hand experience of managing a team. We hope that any experience you gain from this position is something that will help you either personally, or perhaps professionally in the future if team management or leadership roles is something you wished to pursue as a career choice. This position allows you to shape the future of our review and article content with a view to making it best of breed and something to shout about. Anyone who holds this position, if you do not already have one will receive a Premium Account for the duration of the role.   9. Hello all. We are looking for an individual to help us keep our Social Media account (Facebook & Twitter) active, relevant and up to date. The successful applicant would be able to take charge of our social media platform with a view to shaping it into something attractive and converting onlookers into followers! We would require applicants to manage both Facebook & Twitter, if you do not have accounts with one or both, you would be required to sign up to the platforms. Position Details Manage our Facebook & Twitter accounts. Ensure that site news, announcements and reviews are being submitted to both platforms for exposure. Share industry news threads from ExtremeHW forums / Share directly from other news outlets other social media accounts in the technology space. Ensure that while we are a respectable outlet, whilst being able to let our hair down and share/post humorous content, memes etc. Moderate any comments we receive that go against our Terms & Conditions or that may otherwise cause trouble. Expectations To ensure that content posted to the social media platforms are in keeping with the sites content matter.   10. Hello all, As part of the cost restructuring of the site we are hoping to migrate all of our services over to our new server this coming weekend of the 9th/10th July. We do not anticipate any issues with the migration and when we are back live, but nothing is impossible. The role also involves speaking with our team and asking if there are items that they would like to create a content piece on and then sourcing it from the relevant partner.

We will soon put up the formal threads regarding the recruitment for each role, but as a prelude so everyone knows what roles we are looking to create. Social Media Team Members In this role, you will have access to the EHW social media accounts which you will use to promote content on EHW from all different areas. To keep the audience engaged, some areas would include: *Site News *Site Content & Reviews *Industry news (Whether shared from EHW or another online source) *Humorous content Moderators This role ensures that we are keeping the site clean from any reported issues, moderating issues between members and reminding members of our rules should they be broken.   18. Triple post wonder! Good news, my server admin has been kind enough to migrate us to the new server (To be purchased tomorrow) and for the fees to be deferred. This allows us to get underway sooner
  19. In further news we will be migrating to a VPS server in order to keep costs realistic at around £70 per month (rather than £180). I am hoping to do this next month as the migration costs are not doable this month, but not long to go. If anyone is wondering, there are migration costs as I use a server contractor to do this, who takes care of the sites and all of there related services. It will go far more smoothly going this route. Eating an initial cost, but will put us in a much better place moving forward!

Users who have already donated via subscriptions,. Next month, if you would like to create a recurring donation, please select one of our donation products from here : https://forums.extremehw.net/store/ . For those who have donated already, I have cancelled its reoccurrence (However those who used PayPal, please be sure to login your end and cancel the purchase under the Automatic Payments section). so that when you donate using the new donation products, you will not get pinged twice a month.
