  1. I just wanted to chime in that I see SaaS models everywhere these days and my question earlier was not intended to chide at the option, it was to simply see if anyone has any insider knowledge - if that model is going to be replaced or end at some point? I personally am... not a fan. In some instances I appreciate it. One instance would be music streaming. And primarily because I still listen to the OTA radio waves in my car and even as recently as my last 'home', but being on the road and not having great reception with OTA antenna often, streaming does do the trick! But in other instances, man it's a bummer. MBAM for instance. I still have all my old keys on file for software I've purchased from back in the day, and one in particular was a 'lifetime' license for MBAM at the height of when I was doing a lot of PC repair/malware removal. It still works, but only up to certain versions now, IIRC. And I get it, companies have to be profitable and you can't be profitable selling life-time licenses anymore - at least not without a hefty price tag if that was the option. I think I paid like $15 and that really should have probably been 10x the cost for a 'lifetime' license. Anyways, I think part of SaaS is similarly along the lines of 'digitizing' everything. We're (slowly) eradicating the need to have 'things' in all sorts of physical forms, if they need-not-be. Paper (records, receipts, logs, etc), music (well, this is a big debate and I do love me some CD's and appreciate vinyl), books (yep, still in print too but I'm just making a generalized notion); and so on. It's really an interesting time to be observing what is happening around me (us) today. I often wonder about the person who was observing their changing world when they saw electricity, autos, planes, etc. I definitely do NOT want to have SaaS models take over everything though. I enjoy going to a foodstore; outdoor market or brick-n-mortar. I don't want to subscribe to a 'service' to keep my fridge full. And from that standpoint, that's where I stand... But to each their own!
  2. Man I can relate! I don't have them any more but in the late 1980's my dad had a great business connection (friend) of his build custom speakers that were taller than I was when he bought 'em. And man-oh-man let me tell you.... I wish I never let go of 'em. I'm still rocking some floor pounder realistic's from that era that I found in near-perfect condition (cosmetic issues only) at a thrift shop. But, they're in storage right now as I'm on the road. Ah I miss great big, booming, non-sound-bar-driven audio! Nothing wrong with the modern setups, I'm just one for nostalgia. What are the top speakers, or are those part of those big ol bad boys?
  3. Commenting on your picture in OP, I'm both jealous and inspired by your whole setup. Speakers look pretty impressive, what are they? And, how loud have you pumped it yet?
  4. Can't wait. Can't wait. Can't wait. Data, pictures and more please, Mr. Webb Telescope. Please share something sooner than 6 months, pwwwwwwitttttty please?
  5. I have reset my calendar several times now and just finally updated for an early morning PST wake up notification. VERY excited.
  6. I should have sold BABA @ $300; but I failed and missed, what a dumb move. Who knew Ma/BABA/Tencent would get wiped out by the CCCP?
  7. Need more of this for more competition/progress forward. Need more medium sized companies aiming for big ideas and less of the major companies rolling with all the 'powah'.
  8. I've only played one game/mode yet - exactly one - 'Breakthrough'. Though I am a seasoned vet of FPS games, I have great hopes for this game and hope it does not descend into some COD clone/knockoff. I like COD too, but we need a little bit of it all - Apex, CS, BF, COD etc. But I AM ROOTING.. (though it'll NEVER happen)... for a UT reboot. C'mon dreams, come true!
  9. I'm waiting (hoping) for a huge contraction 2022. **HOPING** cause cash sitting on the sidelines. Not for people to get lost or believe their long term/short term paper gains are detrimental unless retired and source of income; but yeah. Bottom out baby. Let's do AMD again for 1000 @ $2 like 2009.
  10. I can't wait until space becomes so normal it's like a 22 hour ride to Mars, like flying around the world. I also hope that the stuff we find/see exceeds the vastness of created worlds we've seen in video games to date. Man oh MAN I hope I can get a lift to space before I die.
  11. NEED is the exact operative word! NEED competition. NEED innovation. NEED more players in the game.... Say it with me now, "LETS GO INTEL" "LETS GO INTEL" (get the whole damn stadium sayin it!)
  12. This is the way. Thankfully at least one 'big' firm/company is backing out of the NFT/block chain trends. I 100% support.

    Hello!

Yikes @Avacado & @Soulpatch to the both of ya. It goes without saying, your service is owed gratitude, so thank you both. Hope that the VA is able to provide for both of yous. (EDIT) Soulpatch lmao.... "ancient" Talking about cold cathode and such, I wish neon was more prevalent still. God I love neon.

    Hello!

EHW FTW! @Soulpatch super talented you are, indeed. I'm still pushing for side gig. I'll help where I can!
  15. I'm still rootin for you to do a side hustle with stands and other cool items that have similar use. You get 100 votes from me. @Soulpatch Glad you joined too!
  16. Pretty fantastic. What a time to be alive! My grandkids are gonna be in space a lot. I hope to see some of that next era of space over the next 40+ years.
  17. I'm tryna coerce'm on over here! It's simply magnificent. Quality second to none. Art is only second to his quality. Have I mentioned how good the quality is? Ooh - speaker stands, eh?
  18. Got this yesterday from a bud down south. Love the style and it's perfect. Going on the road with me! Not sure if he's on the forum but if not I'll see if I can get him over here. HE SAW, HE CAME, HE'S HERE!
  19. I think the older age range of gaming becomes norm as the generations pre 1970's / 80's begin their afterlife journeys. And, I think that's an overall good thing, as in the long run people who grew up with video games will like enjoy them until the day they die (IMHO, as I intend to... lol) What is interesting is the decline in people actually gaming - however - that's pretty simple. Just ain't enough parts/consoles to go fully round. Wait until 2025 when gaming is heightened even further with newer hardware and a maturing (currently) platform.
  20. "Well now. See mom.... I TOLD YOU playing games would pay off. Now, please, get off my stream." -some kid streaming making more than their parents
