Amen to that. I am not sure they are capable of doing anything that would make me want to use it. Which is probably why they are trying to ram up all of our butts whether we like it or not. They have really developed quite the talent for producing tacky bloatware. Skanky Windows 10/11 UI, Edge, UWP App Store filth and DCH/UWD driver feces... yup, quite the talent. Stand back... They're on a roll.

in essence i dont mind the windows 11 UI, i've been forced to daily drive windows 11 due to work and school needs (software updates, bloody yay) but honestly, it is much faster in a bunch of things.

when it comes to edge, microsoft is desperate. as they lost market share when IE was revamped circa windows XP already and theyre trying to claw it back

I can't see anyway I can improve my scores honestly. I'm as high as I can go on cpu for the cinebench R15 score. Can't do much  better on Ambient water. My PY prime is limited by my rather mediocre 3600mhz c die. The same goes for my geek bench single core. I've got the number 1 spot in R23 for 3800Xs so it's not like my single core scores are bad. But I can't compete with overclocked 5000 series chips.

numer 1 isnt just the name of the game(unless your avacado and bastian), pushing the best scores you can out of what you own is and having fun along the way

  3. ironically RAM is only really male and only really can be, it gets physically INSERTED into the female MOTHERboard slot.......

RAM being flashy doesnt mean much. but you know GSkill has to make up for the SPD chip debacle with its first 3000mhz DDR4 kits that were RGB... i had one....

every time you adjusted the LED color it scrambled the SPD chip to the point cpu Z said a 3000mhz kit was running 7200mhz, which physically isnt possible.

flashy ram is for flashy builds, that gold would fit in with copper tubing in someones steampunkish build.

100% agree and why I am generally disgusted by the current trends. Say what you want about the Maxwell era where 80-class chips for a 3rd generation were now the x04, but they definitely got more out of it for less power.

we need a 600W gpu connector like we need a hole in our heads, 3 8 pins looks better when cable managed anyways.

i think intel and nvidia are colluding to make money, because just like that other proprietary connector of nvidia's this is some really dumb stuff and didnt take off into use. so they're using intel to force it upon us instead.

Interesting. I actually tried eyefinity recently to stretch a split screen game over two screens and I didn't have any issues. Haven't tried anything else yet but it seems to work well for me.

the problem with both camps is everyones had different experiences, i had a bad nvidia driver release destroy 2 brand new cards and a motherboard back in the G92 days. neither nvidia or evga would replace them after 2 weeks of ownership.

however the motherboard company who wasnt at fault did replace thier board, and i buy thier boards to this day because i got customer service

people get used to certain things on both sides, its a never ending topic where everyone is going to answer differently.

  6. does anyone know of an open air bench that doesnt ship and take a month or two from china, that will fit this:

    E-ATX intel server motherboard

    ATX power supply

2 HDDs/SSDs (either or is fine)

had built in power buttons and MAYBE front USB (front usb is optional, only a convenience item)

Will consider it.  I kind of enjoy having it on my own gear to be honest, and I've already got the perfect DNS reserved, had it for a few years actually.  Only real 2 reasons why I'm hesitant lol.  I'll see Monday how badly that upload speed limits me.  On something like a Gmod server, it shouldn't be too terribly bad.

itll be dependent on how many players join, i've seen gmod servers do fine until one person above its limit joins, and then they just die

Thank you both for the help! Did not know for the physx thing did see the option in ddu and the file in some window folder.

Motherboard up to date. It a Sapphire 6800xt Pulse but doesn't seem to have any bios update.

Did not even think about the bios switch just checked it so small i never saw it 😆

For some reason it run stable now. I put TDP to default in Msi afterburner. Maybe my card is borderline stable at stock clock.

Gonna try the other bios right now

I tried running rage mode in amd control center with default setting and it was doing the same thing when brand new.

Sorry for hijacking thread il report back in some days.

its all good dude, we're here to help

I don't think there are that many games these days that really need server hosting and the ones I can think of that could use it probably wouldn't work well for general public.

Valheim is the only thing other than minecraft that comes to mind. I would probably play that on an EHW server if there was one.

    minecraft is an option

and pio, if you need it hosted we can talk about moving files over, gmod really isnt that heavy of a server load, after im done HWBot benching this dual xeon system its being put to work, not into a box so alot of options are open here

I won't likely be inclined to take advantage of your offer in the near future, but I would like to express my gratitude to you none the less.  It is a very generous of you.

i figure, if we grow outside the hardware side and involve games as a community aswell. we will grow larger and become more known

Sometimes I have had success by opening the file in the lowly MS Paint and then resaving it with a different file name 🤷‍♂️.

ill laugh and say this... i did that twice, adn tried rotating. no dice.

in other news, i think these two heatsinks are more weight in solid copper than the entire setup is worth XD

  12. can anybody say XEON.....

not the newest thing in the world, its an intel S5000PSL EATX board

    32GB DDR2 5300 ECC

    and 2x Xeon E5345

pay no attention to the 6850, ive had that forever.

this thing will have the snot benched out of it, and then replace my lowly i7 2600 as the game server for rust, and maybe other games aswell if we get things busy around here for community gaming

EDIT: damn you ehw and your sidewaysing my photos

Fantastic read @PCSarge! I actually learned something new in reading. I didn't know the "V" in "VRAM" stood for volatile. I thought it was "video RAM".

why thank you sir, i like giving information if it helps people, new and experienced in the space.
