  1. Hey, thanks for flagging this. This has been kinda driving me insane as I had 2700+ notifications. Maybe I am dumb but how do I limit notifications to either a) replies to my comments (quotes) or b) replies in a thread I've created?
  2. I kindly disagree with that but I understand the disappointment on face value. I think there is tremendous value to update and support an ecosystem and community over many years. All those backend upgrades SHOULD make CS thrive for many years to come.
  3. Of course! I'm pretty sure they made a campaign for it too. One of the OG L4D2 custom maps. Zombies funnel up the ramp. I think you can blow up the metal grate too. I haven't played L4D2 in years but definitely was a thing. I haven't watched this but this video comes up when I search it.
  4. Valve doesn't do 3's. I will keep my expectations in check for now. I still think Back4blood is a pretty good alternative in terms of gameplay. Does it have the secret sauce that Valve's L4D has? No. The community support will never be the same when features gated behind "cards" and DLC in B4B. However, I am hopeful a new L4D comes out and brings back that community aspect. All the mods like Helms Deep and custom modes made L4D a blast on PC. Heck, I bet L4D2 still holds up really well.
  5. Thanks @UltraMega Something is indeed borked on my system. I can't clean install the driver. The option is grey out for me. I'll DDU it at a later stage.
  6. Cheers - Thanks! To be clear, I DDU'd when I switched from Nvidia (3060 ti) to AMD (7900 XTX) but seemed overkill for a simple driver upgrade. I'll consider it based on your pending feedback.
  7. Question to the 5 users here -> If you have installed the latest drivers, does the GUI for Adrenalin work for you? I can't seem to open it anymore ever since moving to the the driver. No matter how many times I click on it or right click, open as Admin. I've cleaned installed it twice within the driver tools. No luck. I've downloaded the driver for RE4 Remake and performance is approx. 100+fps AVG with Max settings w/ RT @ 4K. Much smoother than the demo and without these drivers. I don't want to compromise that experience. Curious if it's just me and I need to do a DDU full sweep or wait for the next batch. Previously I was on the Feb drivers. 23.2.1.
  8. Resident Evil 4 (Remake) 4K, Max / RT, FSR Disabled
  9. New Driver -> AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.3.2
  10. They're rolling this out in a very smart way in my opinion. This will keep the community alive without ticking off a large portion of their user base who may want to stick to GO. Which is probably very important to E-Sports. The way I see it, "Counter Strike" is what Halo Infinite is trying to be. This is also a better approach than Overwatch 2. With all the back end, engine updates coming along with "CS:2" we should see more features rollout over time. CS:GO isn't my favourite game, by a wide margin. I really haven't played it it in years, but it's ranked #2 on my Steam for overall playtime. Booted it up today for the first time in a while to see if I made it into the test. No dice.
  11. Ah! Thanks for flagging this. I went to the steam page where it shares more info. Post above updated with key info.
  12. Counter-Strike 2 formally announced with... feature video? I'll add it to the list shortly. Edit: Link below with full details of announcement and how to access the test. Summer 2022. 14. Agreed with a lot of your sentiment. Until we get modern, fully path traced games, which is likely a COUPLE console generations away, it will always be hybrid RT and the trade offs aren't usually worth it. More info on Hybrid RT here: https://media.contentapi.ea.com/content/dam/ea/seed/presentations/2019-ray-tracing-gems-chapter-25-barre-brisebois-et-al.pdf I have no qualms if in remakes of older games, they move the entire rendering pipeline* to path tracing. Like Portal RTX but the base complexity of the game has to be quite low for current hardware to handle the lighting. Seems like with a 2000$ RTX 4090, we can play Xbox 360 / PS3 games with path tracing. Even then, it needs a lot of work.
  15. Third party comparisons across a suite of different AIB cards? Not that I am aware of besides TechPowerUp. I've dropped a link in the OP from Videocardz. Which includes various different outlets reviewing the cards they have. @gupsterg from OCN has quite a few cards for a more personal feedback. I would start here because the Taichi is their latest review, which should mean that it's the most current cross-comparison. ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XTX Taichi Review WWW.TECHPOWERUP.COM ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XTX Taichi is the company's flagship Navi 31 design. The card comes with a large factory overclock, an upgraded 3x 8-pin power capability and a triple-slot, triple-fan thermal solution. Our...
  16. For anyone interested, a pre-order on GMG saves you 15%.
  17. That’s how I justified Hogwarts XD My wife surprised me when it was released. She’s not into games but mentioned she would watch/ play Hogwarts. Then I was surprised by how good the game is and it’s my current slow burner. For what it’s worth, gaming is easily one of the cheapest hobbies. I find myself indulgent with game purchases knowing that: a) Even if it results in only one or two nights of fun, it’s usually worth it. b) I like to support the industry that brought me years of entertainment. c) I’m a nerd.
  18. Cautiously optimistic here. I bought Diablo III at launch, went through all the pains, but still had fun with it. Haven't played since... 2014 but I agree, I see the appeal and current Blizzard / Activision micro transactions store fronts are a large deterrent. I only see single player titles on my horizon for this year so far. Resident Evil 4 (stop pretending you won't buy it for the 5th time) The Last of Us Dead Space (wow thats a lot of remakes already)... Calisto Protocol Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Pikmin 4 Starfield Meanwhile I'm slowly grinding through Hogwarts Legacy, I need to finish Elden Ring, and that doesn't even account for my backlog(s)... But you know... another sale... hard to resist dumping more into the log XD
  19. I know a colleague already planning time off in June for this. I’m not invested in Diablo but I get it Hope you enjoy the beta
  20. Update: March 15, 2023. I've edited the 2nd post (embedded sheet / list) to highlight the steam sale schedule for 2023. All dates were announced ahead this year. Steam Spring Sale starts TOMORROW!
  21. @The Pook Update made for Starfield. Globally, the sheet needs more work but made a couple adjustments today. If anyone has comments, just add them to the sheet. Besides, the sheet is meant to supplement the main discussion: Games. I'm at a crossroad for this month. I've never played The Last of Us and just finished the TV series. The PC game comes out in a few weeks... but RE4 Remake comes out first and RE is in my veins. I think I may hold on TLOU...
  22. Yes, but my work flow is atypical. It comes in waves and right now it’s higher than normal. I’ll probably remain incognito for another week but don’t worry, i’ll be back and i’ll update this thread.
  23. Resident Evil 4 (2023) - Chainsaw Demo 4K / Ultra / RT High
