I doubt it will suck. They’ve been very light on the details until this past year so it’s a bit difficult to be disappointed if we’re just discovering scope now. Even if we compare past Bethesda RPGs or CP2077, they never sucked per say. Unless you were playing CP2077 on PS4 or Xbox One… lol I am most afraid of the launch. I probably won’t start playing until Sept 8th (Friday) so the extra week from early access users like yourself makes my experience better ahahah. I’m keeping myself in check that I am just getting Oblivion (loyal fan) and Fallout, in space. Any new mechanics, features etc. is just icing on the cake. Heres hoping it runs fairly well on current hardware.

nvidia Introducing DLSS 3.5 for all RTX GPUs.
Slaughtahouse replied to UltraMega's topic in Software News
Yes I agree but the light does saturate faster with Ray Reconstruction (RR) vs without, ignoring the level of saturation. It's more distracting in that scene because now it's more noticeable. One step at a time, next will be RL (ray latency) lol -
I made the other thread for console discussion but I don't give it any attention. All good to share it here I believe you can still download games previously purchased after the store is closed. https://www.eurogamer.net/xbox-360-digital-store-will-close-next-july

I'll have to do a follow up post with Gamescom 2023 announcements but those can wait. Armored Core VI reviews are coming in hot: https://www.eurogamer.net/armored-core-6-fires-of-rubicon-review https://www.ign.com/articles/armored-core-6-fires-of-rubicon-review https://www.pcgamer.com/armored-core-6-fires-of-rubicon-review/ Right now 88% on Metacritic but give it a few days to brew.

nvidia Introducing DLSS 3.5 for all RTX GPUs.
Slaughtahouse replied to UltraMega's topic in Software News
I watched the video last night. It's pretty impressive that the tech claims to improve IQ, as much as they've shown off which is very impressive, and performance. I think most RTX owners want to see DLSS 3.5 without Frame Gen (FG) but still... very impressed. Even if the gain is only a couple %, it's still a gain... -

Heck yea! I am pumped but I knew I could only spring for one large title this fall. I gambled on Starfield. My inner PC gamer is telling me I should of bought Baldur's Gate III but with so many titles and only so many hours, I had to make the tough decision. Hope you enjoy Armored Core

nvidia Introducing DLSS 3.5 for all RTX GPUs.
Slaughtahouse replied to UltraMega's topic in Software News
Wow! Very impressive tech! It does appear to reduce a lot of noise. Curious to see it in motion from independent reviewers. I found a image in the link you shared which helps visualize how Frame Gen is exclusive to 40 series (DLSS 3.0) whilst 3.5 is on all cards. -

Smart call. I started to play CS:GO again and I've been collecting crates. I wonder if they're worth anything. Odd note: I pre-ordered on my phone and I thought the bonus was "Old Man" skins. Not "Old Mars". I am bit disappointed now... I was really looking forward to saggy, dehydrated skin skins.

@The Pook Your persistence, the 19% discount on GMG, and the lack of retail options in Canada pushed me over the edge…

Small update: Looks like Eurogamer's (.net) review of Baldur's Gate III (4/5) tipped the Metascore down to 96%. Now it's tied with Zelda: TotK. Yay controversial Metacritic favouring larger websites Titles I would recommend to lookout for in the next couple weeks before Starfield: Armored Core VI (FromSoft) Sea of Stars (Sabotage) Blasphemous 2 (The Game Kitchen) Immortals of Aveum (Ascendant Studios / EA) Each have their own demographic. Armored Core VI - fans of mechs or simply... FromSoft. Keep in mind every year FromSoft releases a title, they have a GotY contender or winner on their hands. Dark Soul III, (2014 nominee) Sekiro (2019 winner), and Elden Ring (2022 winner). Sea of Stars for anyone who likes old school RPGs like Chrono Trigger. Blasphemous 2 for the metroidvania crowd. Immortals doesn't seem that impressive but it could be fun romp when it goes on sale. It's also UE5.

videocardz AMD confirms FSR3 will be open source
Slaughtahouse replied to UltraMega's topic in Software News
Nvidia will always continue to push proprietary because... they can. They are the industry leader in graphics and if you want to play with the latest tools and features, you have to pay. I don't expect that to ever go away unless they start losing the race to competitors, which is unlikely for the next 5-10 years. -

I saw an article that AMD will be at Gamescom with some announcements. Maybe FSR3 will be apart of it? AMD to Unveil 'Major' New Radeon Products Next Week at Gamescom WWW.ANANDTECH.COM -
2023-08-15 Updates Updated Metacritic scores for the following titles (in order of release) Dave the Diver -> 90% (PC) (+1%) Viewfinder -> 83% (PC) (+1%) Remnant II -> 81% (PS) (+1%) Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PC) -> 85% (-1%) Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons -> 67% (PS) (-5%) Disney Illusion Island -> 72% (NS) (-1%) Venba-> 81%, 82% (PC, PS) (+1%, -1%) NEW* Baldur's Gate III -> 97% (PC) NEW* WrestleQuest -> 74% (PC) NEW* Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical -> 74%, 79% (PC, PS) NEW* Atlas Fallen -> 72%, 64% (PC, PS) NEW* The Texas Chainsaw Massacre -> 73% (PC) Other (conditional formatting in Pivot tables) Mainly back end adjustments however after a few weeks, Baldur's Gate III has been holding 97%, making it now the HIGHEST RATED GAME of 2023 (dethroning The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom). We still have the year to go with Starfield, Armored Core VI, Sea of Stars, Spider Man 2, Alan Wake 2, Mario Wonder, potentially S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 etc. This year is craz-y!

videocardz AMD confirms FSR3 will be open source

I think that would make sense but an announcement should come so, no? Seems like something they would want to advertise in the coming weeks as Starfield hype intensifies. -
AMD Retreating from Enthusiast Graphics Segment with RDNA4?
Slaughtahouse replied to GanjaSMK's topic in Hardware News
They won't take back the market in one night so whatever step they take to be more competitive and offer better value to the consumer is the right step in my view. If that includes omitting the high end / enthusiast GPUs, be my guest AMD. Hopefully they make good headway into the MCM format and that strategy allows them to be more successful in the next 3-5 years. -
Booted up L4D2 for the first time in about 12 years. First match, 25 survivors as Futurama characters... XD

AMD Retreating from Enthusiast Graphics Segment with RDNA4?
Slaughtahouse replied to GanjaSMK's topic in Hardware News
I agree with all of those points. They’ve got problems to sort out and the last time I recall AMD being recommended over Nvidia in the enthusiast group was the 7970 Ghz edition vs. GTX 680. Since the Titan era, it’s always felt like catch up. I hope they continue to push and I hope they’re successful with MCM designs. Scaling GPUs like Zen could make AMD GPUs exciting again. -
AMD Retreating from Enthusiast Graphics Segment with RDNA4?
Slaughtahouse replied to GanjaSMK's topic in Hardware News
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The clarification is Gaming is in fact limited to graphics only (CPUs excluded). In my opinion, we don't have nearly enough info to indicate that poor graphics cards sales are the reason why AMD will forego a Navi 41 / enthusiast chip. Money typically drives decisions... There could be other reasons... but it doesn't seem clear to me why they would skip an enthusiast card. -

No, I don't believe we have the visibility unless we have a whistleblower here from AMD *looks from side to side...*
