gamesradar [Official] Starfield Discussion Thread
Slaughtahouse replied to UltraMega's topic in PC Gaming
Yea I saw from the latest Digital Foundry video that they noticed that HDR on consoles was broken. With blacks being over exposed and no controls for paper whites / peak brightness. Let alone contrast for SDR. I don't believe the PC version supports HDR (yay console first development...) and honestly, I am kinda used to this. Some games really have poor HDR implementation on PC. On my LG OLED, I've turned off HDR because I am getting tired of how bad it can be. Especially noticeable in some RE titles and I don't recall but I believe RDR II would break or be glitching. It may be a Windows 10 issue too because I vividly recall playing RE7 and RE8 in HDR and it was great but for some reason, RE2 was really washed out. I believe Elden Ring's was good but its been a while. God of War's implementation on PC is some of the best I have ever seen. -
^ Agreed. I believe the same is true. To my knowledge, sRGB = reference to colour space spectrum (how much range you can get in colours), usually compared against Adobe RGB (larger colour space). I believe what is driving the OP mad is the subpixel layout of their monitor. I don't think modifying the colour space will make the same impact. It may reduce overall bleeding of colours on text but it sounds like a pure hardware / panel constraint. I'd go on Rtings, and build a table with the key features you want. Example: Monitor Table Tool - RTINGS.com WWW.RTINGS.COM

Decided to try the Sea of Stars demo whilst I wait for Starfield to unlock. It does not disappoint. If you're into old school JRPGs, give the demo a try. Plays a bit like Paper Mario with the combat too (timing button presses). Sea of Stars Demo - 1440p

Gotch'ya Btw, I play most PC games with a controller so no judgement here Yes, I've heard that each shoulder / trigger button controls the right and left side of your mechs attack and defense. Glad you're enjoying it. Definitely still on my list, even if it doesn't have the same effort as Elden Ring.

Q: How often do you find yourself swapping layout / configurations of your mech for missions?

Starfield launches as a polished, consistent experience on Xbox Series X and Series S WWW.EUROGAMER.NET Expectations are enormous for Bethesda's latest title, Starfield. It promises a galaxy-spanning... This is non-spoliery. It’s console only at the moment but both series S and X hold up extremely well and most importantly, very little bugs. If the console are rocking steady 30, im fairly sure the crowd here with 6800XTs and 3080s will be fine.

Wait - is this the first Bethesda game without a splash screen? That looks like an in-game menu. If true.... wooah. The future is here lads.

Just realized his speed is in Mega bits. Not as fast as I originally thought... Back on topic I've created a couple new tabs in the google sheet. Essentially, just new pivot tables for both consoles and PCs, that 2023 or 2024 releases respectively.

guru3d AMD Unveils RX7700XT and 7800XT at $449 and $499
Slaughtahouse replied to UltraMega's topic in Hardware News
I'm a bit curious to see how the 60 CU part fairs against the competition and current used market but at a glance, I don't expect these cards to do anything to change the current sentiment of SKIP. If the $/frame is decent, that would be nice but since the RTX 4090 / 7900 XTX release, the whole generation has been slanted towards complacency. Spend more, get more. Not the ol' approach of wait, spend same, get more. Intel is getting into better shape every day. Really curious to see how their next (battlemage) gen releases to shake of the upper mid range. -
New espresso setup Espresso machine: Rocket Appartamento Coffee grinder: Eureka mignon facile My wife found the espresso machine on the market place for about $1200 USD. I was a bit shocked and we jumped at it. They usually retail around $1900 USD for context. Once we started to brew, or attempt, we realized our grinder was not up to par. The bodum was fine with cheaper espresso machine but with this headset, we needed a much finer grind. Otherwise the espresso just rushes out. Ordered the Eureka a few days later. One of the cheaper options for a flat burr grinder. Difference is night and day. I don’t grind on this setting (too fine and the espresso doesn’t pour) but just an example of how fine it can get. Basically pulverized into powdered sugar.

So good LOL Those Oblivion videos never ever gets old… If I wasn’t playing Fallout 4, I’d be hella convinced to go back to Oblivion. Especially Shivering Isles. I’ve only played that expansion once, on Xbox, some 15 years ago.
