The Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming motherboard is kinda nice EXCEPT for the issue that's cropped up for a third time in as many years. The Bios randomly resets to DIFFERENT VERSIONS causing the NVME drives to not show as Windows boot drives. The last time I Purchased a new larger drive thinking the old one was flaking out on me and cloned my data over and after some playing around things loaded up. This time I noticed it was on a different bios and made the mistake of clearing the bios at the board. NOW the Drive won't boot with TPM enabled because the bios clearing wiped the encryption key that was being used previously when TPM was enabled. In short, because of a flaky board that randomly screws with me and my clearing the bios on the board,When I get ready to run Windows 11 on this thing,I'll have to do a clean install. I suppose I should state that the FIRST time this happened, I just figured it was a bad bios update on my part and that was why it went back to a previous version. If you get 1 of these boards, make sure you keep track of which version bios you have installed so you know if it flakes to a previous ver. on you and you can just reset it with the dual bios feature instead of clearing the bios. (Wish I'd thought of that, but it's a habit to clear it at the board if there's an issue.Didn't know it would wipe the TPM keys)

On a side note, at least AMD is willing to toss buyers a bone if they buy the last gen graphics card new unlike Nvidia who wants to throw a new last gen card out for buyers that's actually worse than the others it already had. https://www.amd.com/en/gaming/raise-the-game Get up to 2 games when you buy select AMD Radeon™ RX 6000 Series graphics cards* Who will you be? guru3d GPU sales at lowest point in a decade

Just a quick point out, My first "expensive to me" video card purchase was my MSI GTX 970 4g at a cost of about $350 plus tax. My next upgrade was an EVGA RTX 2070 XC Gaming for $550 plus tax, when released the RTX 3070 from EVGA started around $550 MSRP BUT couldn't be found for under $600 on their site even today (despite Nvidia lowering the MSRP of the 3070 to $500) Given the fiasco of the 2 4080's and the smaller brothers un-launching and apparent re launching as the 4070Ti (Gigabyte has already filed the models they're making of it https://www.techradar.com/news/nvidia-rtx-4070-ti-gpu-could-arrive-soon-but-at-what-cost ) Who KNOWS what the actual cost of a RTX 4070 will end up being? But my point is that we can see a steady increase in price, but it JUMPED with the 3xxx series because of Covid related issues(supposedly) and now they're keeping the prices right up there. Oh BTW, the 1070 from EVGA was around $430 to $450 so you can see an increase of roughly $100. Note in the included screenshots that the current listing for NEW EVGA 3070's show they are selling for $100-$150 more than the 2070 I bought new even though the 4xxx series has started to release. -
I was kinda excited at first read when I saw the "console support" listed, but after checking, found out that XBOX = "The spec sheets also confirm that both the Xbox Series X and Series S each have three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, killing the hopes of many who wanted a USB-C port." While the PS5 offers 3 USB 3.2 @ 10 Gbps each.(don't know if they'll slow if using more than 1 for storage at a time) Looks like Microsoft dropped the ball in this case.

lol, Seriously? Naughty Dog,The company that made Uncharted and The Last of Us series "Naughty Dog, LLC is an American first-party video game developer based in Santa Monica, California. Founded by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin in 1984, the studio was acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2001." Still wanna talk about Corp's buying gaming studio's and making their content exclusive to their own platforms? Edit: Oh wait! Let's blame Microsoft for Blizzard games not being available already.... I wonder how this will get worked into the Sony scare tactics? Did MS put Blizzard up to it? Blizzard and NetEase break up, ending support for key titles in China WWW.GAMEDEVELOPER.COM Blizzard is splitting with Chinese licensing partner NetEase and will be suspending most Blizzard game services in mainland China as a result.

Really??? I'll just run 1 example by in argument against that, The Uncharted Franchise.... Epic Game store launched in 2018, The First Uncharted game launched in 2007, Finally in 2022 Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, a remastered version of A Thief's End and The Lost Legacy, was released for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. Sony's been at it longer than Epic

I have an honest question, how many PSU's actually have 4 PCI-e 8 pin outputs? Most I've looked at from EVGA all have 3,Even a 1600 watt one. Is there another line that can be used for the forth input? I saw "1 AC line" listed but no mention of number of pins or what rail. Is the AC line the power cord? This gets confusing for people who don't do this often. lol

At least here in the US, we have the FDIC which covers each depositor "The FDIC protects the money depositors place in insured banks in the unlikely event of an insured-bank failure. Each depositor is insured to at least $250,000 per insured bank." If you have more to deposit, just split it up over several banks. This is for non crypto,aka,cash,greenbacks,bucks.... -
Thank you all for your service.

I agree, but like before,if there isn't as large a demand for the new connector as for 2-3 8pin connector PSU's then the new psu's may just fall to the wayside like RDRAM did because "If we can't sell it,what are we gonna do with it?" and if AMD keeps making their GPU's with the old setups there will continue to be a demand for the old style psu's. Even intel is still using the old power connectors on their video cards so the only demand for the new socket is really the Nvidia cards at least for another year or two.

I have hemochromatosis (a disorder in which extra iron builds up in the body to harmful levels) and it's treated by doing phlebotomys to draw off blood and let new blood be made to lower the lvl of total iron in it. It got where the hospitals would use me to train the newbie's how to stick because the veins get scarred from all the punctures and are harder to hit. Now some regular lab nurses have trouble, and 1 tech wanted to set me up with a port. I was like NO! I get these 2-3 times a year! not a week! lol. Either get a tech who can stick,or I'll find a place that can. Now my doctor has me going back to the Cancer treatment lab here where they do chemo and they have no problem. The girl hit's it first time pretty much every time. When there IS a problem, it's usually when I've drank coffee that morning or haven't drank fluids that morning.

That's not the first dog Intel has tried to get people to adopt then finally been forced to concede they were wrong, just look how long they stuck with RDRAM (1999 to 2003 I believe?) When SDRAM was cheaper and just as fast or in some cases faster after DDR came along. RDRAM - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG

lol, I had the opposite situation with my mesh surgery. #1 Nothing to eat or drink after Midnight. #2 Surgery scheduled for 8:30 a.m. so got up at 7:15a.m., went bathroom, showered, got dressed and was at hospital by 8:10 a.m. #3 Finally went to surgery between 9:30-10:00 a.m. #4 11:00 a.m I'm asking when can I go home and I'm informed "Not until you pass fluids so the doctor knows everything's ok" SERIOUSLY? What am I supposed to pass? #5 I explain this to the nurses, they give me multiple little containers of juice I chug, then try a catheter on me but the girl is holding the bag & tube ABOVE me so air goes in my bladder. #6 I finally pee a mix of liquid bubbles and am allowed to leave. For 2 more weeks I keep passing bubbles until all the air works out of my bladder. The joys of same day surgery...

The size of the cards and placement of the plugs almost BEGS for an issue with plugging them in in most standard cases. Add trying to get any kind of cable management and I can see quite a few people having problems... It's almost like Nvidia designed them to fail easily then just threw the "don't bend cable" warning on them to cover their asses so they wouldn't have to replace them when people screwed up,and could just charge for new or possibly repairs if possible. Even more income from the same cards.
