  1. lol, Some of these aren't TOO bad, but some are just a waste.... 17 ridiculous 'smart' gadgets that really exist WWW.BUSINESSINSIDER.COM In the tech industry's quest to make everything connected, more than a few "smart" gadgets aren't quite solving everyday problems.
  2. I'll start with something I ran across today since I'm starting this post,I hope everyone else also contributes things to make us laugh at what people buy.... This Large WiFi Router Guard Cover (Blocks About 90% of WiFi Router EMF While You can Still use The Router) Blocks 5G! (lol) was obviously thought up to cater to the paranoia over the 5G towers and is actually selling some. according to a couple of dissatisfied commenters it's actually made from a metal wire paper holder and a sheet metal base. the list price is $89 and change PLUS shipping. Source that led me to this wonder of modern science was FaceBook....
  3. "At best it's emulation" I think the concern is that At WORST it's SAMPLING which requires that credit be given to the original works. No Ice Ice Baby's allowed without proper credit! The image of Grumpy Cat in Hospital has a familiar looking cat, wonder what image it was taken from? Was it copied whole then dressed in scrubs? Was it inspired by drawings or photo's? What about the copyrighted material being used? Maybe we should also read the linked article that was in my earlier linked post for more in depth details about the whole situation. What’s Really Behind Those AI Art Images? NEWSLETTERS.THEATLANTIC.COM What feels like magic is actually incredibly complicated and ethically fraught.
  4. Maybe if you just say "give me Mac or give me Death!" or "What's a PC?" they pass your Job application up the ladder?
  5. The Studio tracks for Metal Gods,Breaking The Law,and Living After Midnight are so much better than the live versions in my opinion... lol,Contains Sexual content and Vulgar lyrics U have been warned!
  6. Flooded with AI-generated images, some art communities ban them completely ARSTECHNICA.COM Smaller art communities are banning image synthesis amid a wider art ethics debate. And the trouble has already started....
  7. I agree with you to a point. The main thing people need to stop doing is pre-ordering games and paying for alpha and beta versions of games. It literally gives developers no incentive to release a game that ISN'T broken on day 1. People need to stop paying companies to be their testers. I remember when it was the other way around and companies paid people to test and report the issues in alpha & beta versions so a (mostly) fixed game was released. Now,we have weeks and months of glitches still being fixed after release of sometimes barely playable games(looking at U cyberpunk!)
  8. eye roast, baby potatoes, carrots, in crock pot, and bagged rice.
  9. Just an update, Optimum keeps calling to offer me internet upgrade to 1Gb up/down for $20 a month more because they are laying fiber.BUT they can't answer if that would just be to a trunk somewhere on the buildings property that the whole building would feed off like the current cable does or if they'd be running new lines in the building. Back when they were Cox they originally ran the cable lines to all the apt's in this building but now the lines/equipment are over 20 years old. Seems like it'd be like taking the motor outta 1 of the new chargers or Mustangs and bolting it up to an old 3 on the tree and expecting to get the same type of performance the Charger/Mustang had. Oh,and on the web page, the 1Gb plan says 1Gb down/25Mbps up. lol When I pointed that out to the caller,he said that was for the old cable 1Gb service. Think I'll stick with my 400/40 for now 'till I can see a need for greater speed AND see they have dependable service with the fiber here.
  10. If you're interested, you can get 60+ FPS in 1440 on Destiny 2 with those cards and the 30th anniversary pack is free from epic to celebrate them being on epic now also.
  11. Give them credit, been years since I've used my acct, and they still notified me. screenshot of actual letter if anyone wants to see how they let peeps know. The included link to reset was nice because it let me click and then just go to "forgot password" since it's been literally years and different comps between uses.
  12. I tracked this down in case anyone has questions about different iGPU specs. It's a mess to figure out if 1 does or doesn't even by generation because some in a generation don't while 1 will decode... Pretty much have to ck individual specs. 13. Might as well throw my 2cents in here, Currently running Anti-X on a Dell optiplex 160 Intel Atom 330 dual-core processor 1.6Ghz 3Gb RAM 160Gb 2.5" HDD SiS Mirage 3 Graphics chip (this is the pain) Network 10/100/1000 USB 4 x USB2.0 Serial 1 PS/2 Kybd & mouse Anti-X is 1 of the few systems to actually be able to play youtube videos in at least 480 without buffering. The problem is finding a driver for the SiS graphics chip. About the max resolution I'm able to get is 1020x768. The old Vista basic drivers allowed 1920x1080.
  14. Just an FYI, Intel HD Graphics (Ivy Bridge GT1) & Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail GT1) Both bottom out with support of h264 being the max encode/decode.
  15. Just an FYI, finally found the issue with an old athlon X2 systems graphics. I removed an odd ball memory stick because of boot issues(only had 3 sticks at the time) and now with the 2 in single channel the graphics card stopped having artifacts during the boot. It's an old dell inspiron 531 with an nvidia chipset. I may try some test with it later. Edit: Looks like it was the gt315, went back later after updates installed and the restart was even worse for artifacts & blurred screen. Found another memory and replaced the card with a gtx750ti, so far so good.
  16. If you want DOOM 64 the anniversary is free on Epic now it celebrates the 25th birthday of the game & they put in on PC & consoles with graphic changes and other upgrades.
  17. I think it's just a bad time with money being tight right now and people still clinging to their Win 10 machines while they can. I found some listings for similar machines and cheapest was an ebay refurb from a comp store with a 1 year warranty for $279.00 with 4Gb ram & $319.00 with 8Gb. You can still get 1 on Dells Refurb site for $549 with HDD or $599 with SSD and Walmart had a listing for a used 1 for $349 but were out of stock. When the hassle of being forced to upgrade to be able to use Win 11 becomes immediate, machines meeting the requirements are gonna be more in demand.
  18. Since you know your card works in your brothers pc, try putting it back in there, and hooking it up to YOUR monitor with YOUR DP cable and see if it works. If it does, then we've narrowed the issue down to somewhere on your board or your PSU. It will save guessing if a cable, monitor, card or some combo is bad if those 3 work elsewhere. If not, maybe try a different cable while the setup is like that to just make sure and then after putting his card back,if the monitor still had no image, try on his rig with his card. You say U know the monitor's good because the ps4 still works on it,but I've had hdmi ports go out and the vga still work on older flat screens. maybe the DP port's gone flakey?
  19. bought some games off Humble, Horror bundle for minimum donation of $30.00 contains: Resident Evil HD REMASTER Resident Evil Revelations Resident Evil 6 Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition Resident Evil 0 HD REMASTER Resident Evil Revelations 2 Deluxe Edition Resident Evil 3 Resident Evil 2 Resident Evil 7 Biohazard Resident Evil 4 (NOT the new remake!) Coupon for 50% of Village in THEIR store (makes it $10 cheaper than steams sale price)
  20. lol,y'all got them uppity cards while my little ole 2070(non-super) is still putting out over 70FPS in 4k,I think I might've actually got my monies worth with this thing.... EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 XC Gaming, 8GB GDDR6, Dual HDB Fans & RGB LED Graphics Card 08G-P4-2172-KR, Real Boost Clock: 1710 MHz
  21. I don't know,on Windows 10 full screen it was what I ran, took a screen shot & posted in the original post, was in upper left corner it showed FPS,visible(which i think means how many asteroids are showing at the time),the card,GPU freq, temp, and utilization.
  22. Drivers,We need,better,drivers..... (AMD on the side) "Isn't that OUR line?" (Nvidia behind the many years of drivers piled in a wall)
  23. What I liked was while the test was running it showed my gpu speed & temps in real time which let me see that my OC's were still working/saved even with the EVGA software off. My temps were nice for my air cooled setup using 99% of the gpu's ability with processor, and memory OC's on it.
