  1. The prototype copper backplate I laid out for the KPE showed up today and pretty much lines up with the oem backplate ( ± a fraction of a millimeter in a couple of places; nothing I can't fine tune). It'll work and I'll use it with an MP5WORKS block secured by screws while I'm waiting on the Optimus active block: It's a heavy sucker! Anyway, it's time for some...
  2. We knew it was going to be expensive. I figure at least two months (if not longer) before it arrives, which means I'll continue on with my custom block work while I'm waiting:
  3. If you still want me to work on the UI, let me know. If @axipher and/or @zotac have an issue with granting me access to the doc root of the new server, what they could do is package up the doc root once it's live, send me a zipped copy of it, and I'll work on it locally. I'd then document the differences between what they sent me and what I changed (file wise; all commented), and one of them could replicate the changes accordingly.
  4. I'll nickel plate it after I've drilled the screw holes and prepped the surface. Ordered:
  5. Just one of those things that might keep a guy up at 3:30 in the morning.
  6. Speaking of cooler heads, while I'm waiting on the micrometer to show up, I've roughed out the copper backplate I'll have cut for the KPE 3090. I'll drill the screw holes myself (reflected in yellow) on the drill press, but all the other cutouts will be done by my water jet guy: The nice thing about doing this is now I'll be able to fasten anything I want to the backplate using countersunk holes on the inside of the plate. It'll make for a much tighter fit thermal-wise, and I won't have to drill any holes in the oem backplate.
  7. The price was right and I needed something I could plug into my gaming monitor: Needed to design a custom copper backplate for a 3090 KPE (reference the two lower pix):
  8. Not to mention all that silicon that has "Made in Malaysia" on it. Maybe we should stop buying it?
  9. Upgraded my camera's remote capabilities and made it a lot easier for me to continue using it (given my degrading eyesight). CamRanger 2 will allow me to view everything my camera sees on my WIN 10 desktop, as well as fully control the camera and save images and video to disk:
  10. No need to be sorry by me--we're on the same page I did figure the article might stir up some controversy though.
  11. after 16 pwm fans worth of crimped pins, there's nothing like relaxing, checking out the rme adi-2 pro fs being fed by tidal through the crossfire hero viii dark, in-turn feeding the focal clears. kicking back and listening to the whole album:
  12. Hey, you're absolutely right! Didn't even notice the MOQ 250s. Must've been a forest for the trees thing, or vice versa (or my bad eyes)
  13. Obviously an issue with some items in their store? Note the pricing on the last four cases:
  14. ah, should have checked here first before I pinged you on discord.
  15. Facebook serving ads directly to Oculus Quest headsets? Reminds me of tp that ends up being too thin.
  16. I'm only in it for the look, see and feel. ("can't touch dat," said the blind man to b .cosby).
  17. aluminum strip, to make mounting brackets for a couple of King 0-2gpm rotameters ("analog" flowmeters):
  18. If I'm not mistaken, WIN 10 is going to be maintained until 2025, at least as far as security fixes go. No rush if that's the case.
  19. For those with ASUS motherboards: There's a couple of ways ASUS FAQ (added July 5th): Which ASUS model supports Windows 11 and how to setup? A simpler method of checking for TPM 2.0 compatibility is also described on that page.
  20. bant coz i always make extra. you weren't here to drink it
