  1. Also verify your quick return bonus here: Folding@home Bonus Status APPS.FOLDINGATHOME.ORG You need at least 80% completion rate to get the points bonus and it's substantial.
  2. Next year we should name the event EXTREMEHW 2nd Annual 96-hour Folding and BBQ
  3. Glad you could join our family. Since you like it here, you may want to check out our HWBOT team, which also punches way above our weight. We also have smaller monthly folding challenges (48 hours until end of fall). And if you really feeling it, we have EXTREME TEAM folding (ETF league) where you are on a team, and each of you folds with 1 piece of hardware 24/7 with a handicap bonus based on the LARS data.
  4. We're very happy to have you here! Some folks have messaged me in the various places to tell me they will be arriving late today some time. That's perfectly OK. Better late to the party than never
  5. I think that was old info copied over, and I really am not qualified to even answer that question I'll delete said evidence On the plus side, it looks like both score cards are tracking nicely so I'm going to take down the redundant excel sheet. edit: moved the score card towards the top so you don't have to scroll through all the merchandise
  6. Tom you had me so paranoid that I paused folding and installed an old driver from November and resumed. I'm still only like 75% GPU utilization so I guess it's just this WU 18717.
  7. Did the banner confuse you too? That thing appeared about 30 minutes prior and we were like whaaaaa... To anyone else seeing that banner... It's wrong! We started at 00:00 UTC as planned.
  8. @axipher just explained to me that it takes about 3 hours for the first update. Yes they will show your names automatically. This is NOT a stupid question and we ask this every month and axipher has to remind us
  9. When I get a minute I'll send you my firmware image to double check yours. Because yeah that little guy can grab a WU or two every day.
  10. Do you have a descent multicore CPU? Edit if I can remember I'll send you my firmware image for m2000 to compare to yours. I might be running different power limits and voltages.
  11. I was going to text you a reminder about the contest starting soon. Glad you made it
  12. I notice my GPU utilization in Windows is only 77% so maybe this new driver is just crap.
  13. 6900XT here. I normally fold at 100W but I just unleashed it to full power for this contest. The points could just be the work units.
  14. The site dev made an oppsie. He'll fix that ASAP. He did get me a better looking embedded score card though. I'm going to have both score cards for a few hours, then delete the old one if the new one seems to be working fine IGNORE THAT TIME BANNER FOR NOW On top of that my main machine restarted so I have to fix that too
  15. I'm looking into this now. That banner just appeared so I got to ask ENTERPRISE. The Start time is 00:00 UTC so ignore that banner. We have about 52 minutes to start time. Did that thing just pop up?
  16. Yeah I have to run a bit lower clocks when folding. If it does it again, then you might have a corrupted work unit, which means you might have to uninstall, delete the data folder, and re-install. That would suck because then you lose the credit for the work unit, and it's happened to me before while trying to figure our what clock speed was stable while folding. Also don't bother with VRAM OC. It doesn't help much with folding and can cause problems like the one I just stated. As long as you complete more than 80% of all work units you get the bonus points for quick return.
  17. Glad to have you representing Tom's Hardware! Just over 8 hours to go until challenge starts, so hopefully everyone is lighting off the crunch machines to work out any last minute kinks. I see that a new beta client for folding@home has been released. I'll test it out after the competition ends. V8 Client Guide – Folding@home FOLDINGATHOME.ORG
  18. We're a riff-raff haven here. Apparently some forums thought we were too greasy and dirty and deleted my invitation posts for the event. W1zzard at TPU was quite helpful though. That guy knows what's up. Shoutout to LTT, Guru3D, EVGA forum, f@h forum, HWBOT, and anyone else that didn't delete my spam!
  19. I set a 5950X to run 28 of 32 threads. I had to set LLC to high and disable PBO, otherwise it would keep crashing. Even ECO mode did not agree with f@h on my 5950X. Also running a 6900XT on that rig.
  20. I'll get this info into the original post, and we'll reiterate it again when winners announced.
  21. Original post updated with the relaxed Work Unit rules and EVGA prizes. Rules change: First round of random prize draw has been lowered to 10 Work Units. Should there be leftover prizes, we will hold a second round of random draws for those that completed 20 Work Units. I would say extremely good chance of winning one prize, and the possibility of a second prize as well thanks to our generous sponsors.
