Forgive my mistrust, somehow I feel like this is an attempt to get VBiOs updated to prevent mining.

But its only to do with the driver from the looks of things as opposed to a VBIOS update to mitigate the security issue. That being said I have had a couple of VBIOS updates to my 3090 via EVGA supposedly to enable RBAR but you never know lol.

I know it's driver specific, still, does not change my mistrust. I feel like they are trying to weasel something on our cards. MUST UPDATE IMMEDIATLEY! Just sounds suspect.

Ha, I know what you mean. It would not be too much of a surprise if something extra was popped in the drivers lol.

Nothing.  Any cards mining will just run much cooler now.
