Welcome to the ExtremeHW Folding Competition, Thursday May 27th - 29th, 1 AM UTC (Wednesday May 26th - 28th, 9 PM EDT)

In the spirit of folding for the cause and good old friendly competition between members, we are hosting another folding competition. For more details please see below.

 

 

How to participate:

• During the competition you must be folding for Team 239902
• You must post in this thread with "IN" followed by your folding username.

 

Prizes:

• $25 prize PayPal (@axipher) won by @Compaddict
• £25 prize PayPal (@ENTERPRISE) won by @firedfly
• £25 prize PayPal (@ENTERPRISE) won by @BWG

Folding Time Prizes:

• 24 hours of at least a 3090 and a 2080 Super (@Bastiaan_NL) won by @bozogs

  • anyone with less than 5 million PPD

All "Folding Time" prizes will require your username/passkey to be given to the donator, this will not give them any of your personal information, it just let's them be able to contribute full points to your username.  Passkeys need at least 10 full Work Units to start getting the full Quick Return Bonus.  Alternatively, you could setup another passkey for your Folding@Home username with a different email address and fold your first 10 units on that.  This would still put the points towards your username, but they would also be tracked by a different passkey.

 

Please note all winners must claim within 30 days from announcement of the winners.

Note: Stats are updated every hour at XX:25 for previous hour of submitted Work Units.  The first update at 1:25 AM UTC will set the "zero" for your points based on all the WU's submitted up to 1 AM UTC.

Yeah, tell me about it. I'm in the same boat man! However, today I'm going to fold and tweak the 3070 and the other GPU's for folding, and I'm going to go ahead and go all out for 2 days. I usually do 1 day, and then switch back. Projected earnings per month for me have been around $2,000.

 

I ended up ditching all of the x16 extension ribbons. They just don't seem to work very well, even in PCI-e 3.0 mode. My x1 riser's working good though! Pretty big dip in PPD though, so I just plugged the display into it so I get full speed on everything else.

I thought about your issue with the 16x risers, the only thing I can think of is the risers are preventing the normal 75w delivered via the slot. Might be why your 1x risers are working while the 16x ones aren't. Just a thought. Shielded vs un-shielded cabling could also be effecting it if un-shielded.

I'll have to try them in my x370 rig at some point with a 1080ti to see how they act in it. They would run for a little while, then just blip out and the mining would all crash and burn. Maybe I should try the LINKUP PCI Express 4.0 ones in my main rig. Little pricey.
