Apparently all you need to do is fold on it and feed it to LARS for 2 minutes for it to be eligible (see the line graph for K5000 on LARS, it's a dot).

The requirement should be 500 samples within the last 3-4 months. On a single die GPU, this can be accomplished within 2 weeks or so.

That's pretty close to what the Captains were thinking too. So, that change will be likely made very soon and put into effect for next month.

Everyday at work, I fill up the L2N for skin lesions. And everyday, I think about L2N cooling a GPU! Maybe one day I will try it, I have a lot of experience now handling the "Juice".

does LARS look at gpu NAME, or does it look at the chip version? i've not looked at it real hard, but F@H client sees my GPU as a "480/580" GPU.  Just wondering how specific this is for the sake of what's close enough.

Yours is bundled, but it's close to everyone else, so it's competitive. Probably helps that everyone runs the same card almost in your category.

ok cool. I picked up a new GPU, hopefully to game on, so this one doesn't have to stop folding so I can game. but that doesn't mean I "couldn't" fold on it instead...

 

honestly the RX580 leaves a lot to be desired now that I have a 3840x1080 display. theoretically the new one should have twice the FPS for roughly half the power draw.

Heads up to anyone folding on AMD GPUs and running beta tasks.  There are some very low ppd WUs that started going out yesterday.

 

-Edit- The same tasks are also on the low end for NVIDIA, but just lower than average, not the -50% ppd that I was seeing on my Radeon VII.

not running beta , but will fold whatever comes down pipeline no matter what. kinda sucks for points comp though.

Should have Michele's and my ETF folding rigs back up and running by end of day tomorrow. I had to rob Peter to pay Paul to build my buddy a workstation so parts got shuffled around like crazy over the last few days, but things are almost finished getting put back together. The really good news is that I am selling my buddy a whole bunch of hardware at a a good profit and he is more than happy about that.

It's possible.

 

I'm going to start testing an old Firepro soon. It's locked down in BIOS and driver level for overclocking, but someone at Igor's Labs unlocked one recently so I'm going to try the same. If successful I'll need to feed the LARS database. If not, well it was $20 and works as a display adapter

These tasks are now in full F@H. p18112-p18114. Not sure how they run on the RX-580s that everyone is running, but they are pretty brutal on my Radeon VII. -40-50% PPD compared to a p18201.

Remember that shitty OEM Radeon 350 "Oland" I was messing around with back in April? It was doing like 1400MHz overclock. I found a variant of one that only runs at 680MHz stock clock for $20 on ebay a couple weeks ago...just in time to ruin the holidays
