Microsoft Teases Its Windows 11 Event With 11-Minute Video of Startup Sounds

Recommended Posts

Quote

As we wait to hear more about the next big update for Windows, Microsoft just teased the upcoming launch event with a medley of various startup sounds. The melodies for Windows 95, Windows XP, and Windows 7 have all been slowed down and linked together to form an 11-minute “slo-fi” experience. It’s a tad jarring to listen to at times—depending on how kindly you take to high-pitched sounds—but the scenery in the video is mainly of the hills and skies that Microsoft has used previously as inspiration for each respective operating system’s default wallpaper.

I wonder what this will bring to the table.

I thought Microsoft were going to stick with Windows 10 for a while. Hopefully they are going to go the Mac route and just do free updates for it. I don't particularly want to buy Windows again. Especially with all of the data collection that they do. Either stop data collection or stop selling Windows, at least to private consumers. Don't do both.

I'm going to guess they plan to continue the free upgrade system they had going from 7 to 10. It does almost seem to early though, windows 10 feel like it's hit s really good stride finally and now it's being replaced.

10 has been around for a while though, but maybe it doesn't feel as long since people stayed comfortable with windows 7 for so long.

I finally feel comfortable migrating from my 8.1 box to 10 when I get the new build rig. I did not feel comfortable participating in the free upgrade when it first came out as I had horrible driver issues with my laptop after upgrading it to 10.

win 10 is 6 years almost, but they did stay they will stop updating windows in sense that there wont be naming change anymore,

It should be just evolution of UI, so I am actually interested to see what they will offer, may be it will be working on ARM based CPU fully,

If they can swap to ARM completely, meaning it will have a full support like current 86, it will change meta in CPU industry
