A week or two ago a RansomEXX ransomware virus hit Gigabyte, where 112 GB of data was taken. The information posted by the hackers is currently on display, according to CyberNews. 

 

A dataset of 7 GB with files like Gigabyte, Intel source code, and documents from AMD, among other things has been posted. Prior to publishing, the files were previously available on the RansomEXX website. When Gigabyte declined to pay the ransom, the files were released on hacker forums, where they could be found.

This Intel Manageability Commander application source code has been made publicly available. Other files including sensitive information from AMD that are now out in the open are also included in the dataset.

 

When it comes to Gigabyte, a lot of firm data was lost. Thus, it can be concluded that the hackers are not yet finished with them. Only a small portion of the 112 GB of material has been released. As of the moment, it looks that Gigabyte customers' personal data has not been stolen.

Gigabyte-hack Discloses AMD Zen 3 Threadripper 5000-cpu codenamed Chagall

The recent Gigabyte hack revealed AMD's next Threadripper CPU series codenamed 'Chagall' in the pipeline. The processors would be based on the Zen 3 architecture and dubbed Threadripper 5000. 

According to leaked information, two series will be released. The sTRX8 base with eight-channel memory is also being considered for a workstation version, which would be in addition to the HEDT version, which would be in addition to the sTRX4 base with a quad-channel memory interface.  AMD is planning to release more information about the Threadripper 5000-series after august.

So in the previous post you've read about the recent Gigabyte breach, which exposed source code from Intel and private papers from AMD. And all of a sudden this data is out; AM5 motherboard BIOS and info on ZEN4 server procs have leaked. 

 

User Yuko Yoshida (Twitter) has shown that the Genoa series consists of 12 chiplets, on Twitter. This totals 96 cores and 192 threads, all running at the same time. The number of cores has increased, while the number of memory channels has increased by 1.5 times (from 8 to 12).

 

Zen 4-based server CPU will be the first to support the avx-512 instruction set. The SP5 socket has 6,069 contact pins to accommodate all of this computing power and extra features. Other documents state that the energy consumption goes up, even if the standard and configurable tdp is not indicated ( 320 and 400 watts according to speculations). The value of this quantity is held for a maximum of 1 ms, whereas up to 440 W (one horsepower) of power can be applied for a duration of 10 ms.

...the 96c/192t Zen4 would be great for certain workstation apps, but for now, the 32c/64t WRX8 '5775' (?) Zen3 8-channel RAM looks the yummiest for all around use.
