Oh I bet they were a bit upset that the multi-core was still lower than AMD, but that Single Core is a huge jump. I may have all AMD right now, but I was never as happy with basic functions on AMD vs my older Intel rigs. I really should consider an Intel rig though. Anubis1127 has both current gens, and likes the Intel better, but he's sort of a memory junkie, so it's easy to see one big reason why. His memory benchmarks were way higher on Intel still.

Do you know what AMD is brewing up behind the scenes by chance?

From my perspective as a gamer who wins for high res over high refresh, Adler Lake doesn't interest me at all. When Ryzen 3000 came out it was just what we needed on PC to easily keep up with next gen console games. Adler Lake doesn't change that situation at all for me, and I'm sure it will be a long long time before a game come out that doesn't run well on Ryzen 3000.

Ayyy, finally some good performance from Intel and for a lower price than AMD. Let's see if they can keep that up.

I'm sure they'll make up the cost different on chipsets.

No doubt, but pricing got dumb with Zen 3, so I am happy to see Intel offering performance competitive CPUs with more cores (yeah I know big.little) for less as we see where we go from here competitively when AMD releases Zen3D and Intel with Raptor Lake. Seeing the 12600k for $299.99 here at Micro Center and that beat the same priced 5600X. Fail for Intel though is that it still looks like problems with power draw/heat.

All in all, I agree that nothing changes for me, but it's nice to see some competition.

It's funny to see how benchmarks matter this time around for intel,lol...

ADL is indeed a step in the right direction - we needed the competition,as the prices for the latest Ryzen series had shown us..

Finally we have some innovasion from intel, and It'll be interesting to see AMD's tit for their tat..

I'm legitimately impressed with the 12900K.  I'll be sticking with my 3900x for a bit though, honestly it's more than I need at the moment and likely will be for some time... still nice to see Intel back in the running again, can't wait to see if AMD can answer them.

Yeah, Zen 3D should be interesting. I for one would welcome a good back and forth competition with both.

Problem for Intel right now is platform expense for a lot of people that might have been on Zen 4 for years at this stage. As @UltraMega has said, CPUs might be cheap, but the overall platform is not. Hopefully that gets better as competition continues.

While I'll be sticking with my 5950X, the 12th gen Intel offerings do look interesting.
