The Core i9-12900KS is the freshly released supercharged variant of the 12900K, and the CPU can boost to 5.5GHz right out of the box.

 

However, in theory, Intel’s 13th-gen Raptor Lake silicon will be capable of taking clock speeds 200MHz or 300MHz faster than this, as rumored by hardware leaker Raichu on Twitter.

In theory, then, the Raptor Lake flagship could end up hitting 5.7GHz or 5.8GHz, which would be pretty staggering speeds straight off the bat with no tweaking or knowledge of overclocking needed.

...right on...Zen4 also shapes up to be quite a monster ! For now though, I'm blissfully content in my Ravens nest

Maybe we will finally get 8-10ghz cpus by 2025. Then intel will only be 20 years late. And we will finally be able to play crysis.

I wonder if it will be compatible with my z690a from msi. And if the performance increase will be worth it. Maybe an i9 upgrade if it support ddr4

It should be. There was already a BIOS revision released supporting the new CPU's for my Unify-X awhile back.

Sounds sexy! Hard to beat raw Mhz. UE5 seems to love speed, not cores so this should be great for that engine.
