AMD's AM4 platform has profited both AMD and the company's client base over the last five years. Yesterday evening, or this morning or afternoon, depending on your timezone, the company revealed the new AM5 platform and the company's roadmap for the following number of years. However, what will happen to the popular AMD AM4 technology, such as the currently released Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor? Will the company offer further support? Dr. Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, has given hope to those satisfied with their AM4 processors and may have given a glimmer of hope for new designs to continue manufacturing.

Like may companies, AMD will continue to support AM4 platform for several more years, with the hint at new designs on the horizon.

Would be great to have ddr4 support on newer cpu!

i will says WCCFTECH is usually more sensationalist articles than actual facts, but any new is good news for AM4.

Yea that why i posted it in rumour.  I think i shared when they talked about 24 core ryzen and at the end we are stuck with 16 core with the latest new/leak.

The ryzen 5800x3d kinda broke my dream. It beat a 12900k in gaming while having ddr4 and the 12900k high clocked ddr5.

Wonder what gonna happen i want more core for my game beam ng and BOINC.

It time to stop refreshing new socket every years it like phone ways too much refresh.

Mostly trying to keep new alive with some update haha.

Remember when they showed off the 3920x at computex 2019. But then later launched the 3950x. It is possible that they only showed off the 16 core. And they might end up releasing something bigger.

And if they do have a 24 core chip with 3 chiplets. Then they could also release a 18 core version as well.

Unless they are already 12c/16c chiplets. Which could explain the larger chiplet size. Remember AVX512 is still a rumor. 🙂

They could actually be using the ZEN4C version for desktop.

Possible or it could be a new hedt threadripper.

Am all in for a 7950x 24 core but without 3d cache they won't beat intel in gaming.
