The European Union (EU) has reached an agreement that will make USB-C charging no longer just a convenience but a requirement for iPhones and all other mobile phones by the fall of 2024. The plan extends to additional consumer electronics using wired charging, including digital cameras, tablets, and, at a later date, laptops.

I support it too 😁. Just wonder if they are smart enough to not apply this to gaming laptop. Imagine a triple type c power cable 😆

If the government refrain from making those law the company will enjoys selling garbage.

Like the right to repair thing.

Or in the US for exemple: A car if you put a hitch on it. They have to prove you damaged the car towing to deny warrantly.

Meanwhile in canada you have to prove you did not damage it.

Sometime it for the good sometime it for the worse haha

Well, Apple has slowly been moving towards portless on iPhones since 2016, so, yeah.

Apple have always been very anti-cable. I've not plugged my previous and current phone into anything, ever. I have no need to. With the way Apples ecosystem works, plugging anything in isn't necessary. Except my laptop which can't wireless charge.

I miss wireless charging but my Samsung m51 got a 7000mah battery so i can use it for 12h and not run out of battery 😄

At least with wireless charging you don't end up with a broken type c port

Yeah, it is neat. The only real issue with wireless charging is that it yeets your battery if you charge at too high wattage. Wireless charging generates a lot of heat that damages your battery over time. I have my wireless charger plugged into a USB 2.0 port so it's only getting 8W max of charging. So far I've had my phone for 18 months and my battery health is still 100%.

Oh that cool! Wonder how mine. Last Samsung phone i had the app store app had no reading. Wonder if that one would show me something. But wth 7000mah the battery should have ways more endurance.

I refuse to use wireless charging for a phone after one wireless charger almost bust into flames. No thanks. Good thing I was around and could smell the burnt electronics smell starting.
