...sadly, Intel hasn't shown up in the HEDT desktop market for a while, so the AMD 5990X wasn't officially released - why bother if you're AMD. The 5995WX (64C/128T)on the other hand is s.th. else, now that it is overclockable and has 8-channel RAM - and an outlandish price. The 5975WX (32C/64T) on the other hand could be an interesting benching beast as it is easier to cool and power. All that said though, with Zen4 cores about to release which includes DDR5 and PCIe 5, it might be worth waiting for the next gen (7995WX/7975WX) Threadripper Pros - allegedly, they'll come with 12 channel DDR5 RAM .
