I've been using the ASUS ROG Z690 Formula motherboard in all my recent CPU water block reviews, and also detailed it here for a specific EK VRM bridge block article. While the board has reached end-of-life...

Speaks for it self ...:velo:

It pains me to see people STILL recommend EK after all these years. There are so many other block manufacturers that consistently deliver without risking materials.

EK: Just use copper. Stop trying to nickel plate it and for Pete's sake don't nickel plate aluminum...

Nickel plated aluminum? The block I got from them for my STRIX 4090 OC is still in it's box while I wait on Optimus to ship the one I ordered from them.

I'm almost tempted to get out my jigsaw and cut through the EK block to determine yay or nay...

Yeah I don't get EK, they have a whole aluminum line of products too. Just dumb.

Yeah, you know if I did cut the block I have in half and learn that it's made of nickel plated aluminum, they'd catch hell. It could turn out being a somewhat expensive experiment though...

Realistically though, its probably nickel plated copper unless you specifically got something from their aluminum lineup, which I've typically seen with more mid-range blocks as their "budget" option.

In the case of this motherboard block though, guessing they got caught similar to how Gigabyte had issues with one of their Waterforce models last gen that was also nickel plated aluminum.

Well what we mostly see in RL is "Marketing" knowledge vs "Real" knowledge of any problematic.... People tend to read the marketing materials and claiming it as real facts, just because its faster and easier.. And as well marketing doing a good job so... Anyway as told it speaks for its self...🙄
