7950X3D overclocked to 5.9 GHz...

...I subscribed to SkatterBencher's channel a while back, and he rarely disappoints...though, didn't think that he would release this on day 1. Hopefully, these strategies will also work on the Asus Crosshair X670E Gene (and/or other higher-end Asus 670s)...

I mess around with base clock as well. It was especially effective on Cezanne to exceed the +200 pbo values because those rarely run into power limits.

On Vermeer I can run 104 base clock for better multicore but I can't combine with the full +200 and it doesn't get as much top boost because it needs more voltage.

So I set two different OC profiles for 5800x, one with 104 base clock for benches like cinebench. One with - CO +200 for single core benches.

Lots of oc secrets still to be unveiled, but with the Ryzen 7___X3D line,  async clk seems to be one major avenue. Oddly enough, that takes me back to the good old days of my 'standard' bclk 104.5 with Intel HEDTs (X79,99, Xeon etc).

One key will be a really good IMC along with a good set of DDR5, ie. 32 GB Dual Rank low timings 6400

Yeah I've watched a lot of his Zen 3 stuff when I was learning about PBO and CO. Base clock overclocking sounds interesting, but I've heard that can mess things up pretty quick if not careful due to other things that run off that clock. I haven't braved that yet.

Only thing that's weird with this guy's videos is that he never blinks. 😂

Uses AMD CPU but NVidia GPU to correct for constant eye contact.
