These limitations have silently been removed by NVIDIA and now allow for increased video encoding for up to five streams simultaneously. NVIDIA recently relaxed some video encoding limitations it had on its GeForce GPU lineup which have now been unlocked.

As a Plex user, I found the artificial limitation of max streams to be overly annoying. There are plenty of cheap GPU's available for things such as Plex but the limited max concurrent streams always pushed you up the line to the more expensive GPU. This of course is great for Nvidia.

 

However power to them for deciding to relax this, ultimately they didn't have to.
