In a recent presentation to retail channel vendors, AMD indicated that its forthcoming Zen 5 architecture will be introduced as the Ryzen 8000 series for desktops. The next-generation mainline desktop processor from AMD, codenamed "Granite Ridge", is predicted to host up to 16 "Zen 5" CPU cores across two CCDs. The processor's I/O (inclusive of its 6 nm cIOD) is likely to remain largely unchanged, but could potentially undergo an upgrade to support higher DDR5 memory speeds.

Furthermore, AMD revealed notable information regarding "Navi 3.5". This implies a modest revision to the "Navi 3.0" generation (Radeon RX 7000 series, RDNA3 graphics architecture), possibly encompassing a die-shrink throughout the entire series, perhaps to a new foundry node such as TSMC 4 nm or even 3 nm.

Sounding like Zen 5 is keeping with 8-core CCX's. Was hoping to see that go up so a 12 or 16 core product didn't have to cross the Infinity Fabric to communicate with each other, but maybe I'll just wait and see what Zen 6 brings.

Looking like I should just pull the trigger on an upgrade to 5800x3d at this point
