Meet the newest member of the family. All the way from the Rhineland. With linky to PCB creators compatibility charts.

The interesting parts I am concerned with. "Aparently Threadrippers 60 Lanes can be configured very flexible, however with the limitation of a total of 7 links."

Should work well with what you have coming as well @ENTERPRISE

"For several generations Intel (on its 28 and 40 Lane CPUs) has supported x16, x8x8, x8x4x4, x4x4x8 and x4x4x4x4 as well as x8 and x4x4 configurations."

Nice.

I have a few of those and a passive x8x8, and they work great.

For Threadripper on X399, I can say that 6 GPUs definitely work.  The max at 7 I think would only apply for x8 slots, but I can't say for sure since I've never exceeded that number of devices.  As long as you can bifurcate a x16 slot to x4x4x4x4 I don't see any reason why you couldn't add more GPUs. You may have to disable some USB and/or sound devices, depending on how your board handles addressing devices, but other than that, there is no maximum device limit on X399 and Threadripper.

A wave of good units hit my systems, a 20 unit update for 3.2 million points with 4 cards online.
Very low TPF on those 177xx units: 12 seconds for a 3090, 18 seconds for a 2080ti and 26 for the 2080s. [edit] some variation in the TPF, just noticed that on my next post.
Anyone else with the same units?

The ones I've seen in my logs are between 17711 and 17724.
If you sort by time finished they should be somewhere on top, cause when I left 5 hours ago I was running 134xx units only.

Are you using the "beta" flag?

The 2080ti was actually doing this before, 5.5 mil was normal for a few months.
I'm happy to see the cards doing well, not the cheapest parts of my systems :classic_blink:
And looking at the power consumption, 455w on the 3090's, 335w on the 2080ti and 275w on the 2080s, so they are all at their limits!

[edit]

360w on the 2080ti, 300w on the 2080super and 470w on the 3090, these units are perfect!

Seem to have pushed past the freezing issues with the M40's. They have made it 4 hours without locking up and the real test will be if they make it over night. Maybe adding the second PSU and taking some of the load off the 1600w (Should have been able to handle the load) helped. Noticed that they are folding better, running cooler, quicker TPF and slightly more PPD after changing the TIM and thermal pads.

So far, so good, we're crusin!

Unfortunately one of the x399 boards is broken and the cards just will not play nice with the Z390 board and 9900k. I will be running half of the Teslas on Monday. so 5 million PPD lost until I can get a replacement x399 board.

Without the extra cards, I suspect I will be posting sub 3 million 3 hour updates.
