Single thread of my 5800x.  I have FAHClient on my gaming PC in my office and the wife's gaming PC for TC.  I use FAHClient on my Gaming PC to control and monitor but it doesn't like having no slots configured because then on reboot, it just decides to reconfigure slots for your CPU and all available GPU's on its own.  So I added a single CPU slot with 1 thread so that it doesn't keep adding new slots on reboots.  Plus this will just help to pad my Work Unit count...

Modern problems require Canadian solutions.

270 million points in 24 hours, almost 1000 units per update with an average of 33k per unit.
What do you guys think, insane CPU system or GPU's without a passkey?
Their team is closing in fast..

Some info after looking up the team on the F@H page:
SLING is founded by Jozef Stefan Institute, which is a Slovenian research institute.

Also, we are number 200 on the team rankings! ?

Most likely a few racks of server grade GPU's. Probably Tesla A100's or RTX 8000's.

This guy claims to have 8xA100's pumping out 64 Million PPD. Fair to estimate that a research institute could bring a few racks to bear to kick out those numbers.

I finished hooking the A/C up and it's running. Got a lot of cleanup to do. I also switched the 3080ti to my main rig with my 3080 so they are both on PCI-E 4.0. I then moved the bench to my 1700x rig. Everything is folding, and the A/C barely cycles on at all. Steady 72 F right now. A bit chilly with the ceiling fan circulation. HFM shows everything's folding. 3080ti is where my display is plugged in, but I'm not touching it. All clocks on 3080 and 3080ti match so we can see a fair comparison.

It has been a while.

But I promise I have been productive :).

Should I see how it Folds? 🤔. I need to put it under water first I think.

GDDR6X temps seem to be toasty.

I also have some space to add the 2070 in the mix :).

Nice card Mistio!
You can always set the power limit to something like 75% and see how it folds with that.

But watercooling is the way to go with a card like that if it's not on an open air bench (10°C cooler than in my case).

And a little update, I have sold the 1660ti and maybe the 1650 super too.
There is a 3060 folding at +250 core in the workstation now, and a 3070ti ftw3 in the main system at +120ish on air. Work units are not the best (worst) I've seen in a long time, so not much to say about PPD right now.

I've seen some complaints of reference temps. It's awarmer running GPU though. What were the temps?

I am not happy with the temps to be honest.
Memory hits 96 C in Horizon Zero Dawn playing ULTRA@1440p.

If I make it sound like jet engine it will drop to 85 on the memory.

Core is fine. 70-72 but the memory is what bothers me.

There was nothing else in my area I could buy for this price.

Everything was 2k EUR and above.
I snagged this MSRP+75 EUR shipping.

All hail @BWG the best folder on the team. You keep putting all of this stuff up like we care anymore, the only person you have left to compete with is yourself. You should fight yourself at 50% PL and the other you should fight at 100% PL. Let yourself know who wins! 🙂

What the hell? I'm not the best folder and you know it. 🙄 I just thought it was pretty neat to get it all up and going, but I need more power to run full throttle.

Lets be real here, you are anything but stupid. 34 million PPD @50% PL (Hinting you have room for much more) means you are generate the highest PPD on the team. For someone that is into folding as much as you, I hardly believe that knowledge escaped you.

@BWG may be pulling 34 million PPD right now, but he still can't seem to pass me (and stay ahead).  If he could ever fold at full capacity for more than two days at a time, then I might be in trouble! 😉

And I still plan to make sure he doesn't win the folding competition next week!

Nope, I was not actually hinting that I can do more, that's pretty obvious. I just wanted people to see what 50% power produces. I'm actually logging it to compare to full power. Do you remember my push for LPF (Low Power Folding) on OCN? It shows people you can achieve great results folding low power which reduces the cost to fold and the heat the GPUS generate. I think pushing the power slider up to max is something more for a FAT or the ETF event. I feel putting this out there informs people there's a way to cut the cost to fold and the amount of heat it produces. Try that before just shutting them off for the Summer like some do.

I will go all out in a bit, and we can compare the numbers.

I doubt I'll pass you back, and I doubt I'll ever win a FAT. It's just always been that way for me. I had the most fun I ever had in a FAT losing to @Bastiaan_NL last month on OCN. That was super cool!

Please read this in a friendly voice:
First of all, please speak for yourself. I do enjoy looking at those numbers, which you might know, and maybe others too.
I understand that posts like that may sound like bragging, but he can be proud of what he's building and I'm proud for him. Same as I really enjoyed your Tesla adventure! (or everyone's builds for that matter)
For me Folding at home always has two sides, the competition and the research. That's why I have a lot of hardware too, and if I could there would be a few more cards just like he has.
Hopefully everything is well, cause I really don't know you like this.

And if @BWG wants to win he's got 2.5 billion points to go 😂
