Yes. The site is every three hours. Also, sometimes it will miss an update, but the completed WUs will usually turn up on the very next update. FYI, you should not OC your RAM for folding. Core OCs only. There is no benefit to RAM OC at least not on any cards I own. This may have changed on the 4000 series, but I highly doubt it.

Yeah it just updated and is showing what I would expect after 12 hours. I answered my own question lol. Though I do wonder if they are having server issues or something as I said the page frequently fails to load when I refresh it and only in the last 3 days or so.

I can OC my ram to 12210MHz and stock is something like 10500. I will test with and without but given the price and rarity of the card, less strain on it is fine with me.

Unfortunately if I overclock the core more than 2900MHz, then in my OC tool in Linux I will see the core dropping to around 2000MHz then going back up to 2925MHz for a while then dropping down. Currently I have it at 2855MHz and it doesn't drop down at all. I am wondering if it is a voltage issue, neither GreenWithEnvy nor Nvidia X Settings seem to have voltage control in Linux. Obviously I do in Windows and I can OC it to 3090MHz there. I suppose I should look into if I can control voltage in a terminal using nvidia-smi or any other utilities.

I've heard there is minimal gain to be had in overclocking the 4090 to begin with, so maybe I should leave it as is, it is still actually doing 30 mil a day as per this:

https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=1311203

Once the foldathon is over, I will fold for a day with mem at stock and see if I get the same PPD over a day or two. Thanks.

Of course! And I would be very curious to see if a RAM OC yields any significant PPD improvement for the 4090, as it certainly has not with older gens.

Sure, I will test this out after the foldathon and let it run at stock mem for like 2 days and report my results here.

Then I will have to OC my core high despite the clock dropping to 2000mhz thing and leave that for a few days to see if it affects ppd negatively or positively.

My card is capable of more on the core, including in benches in Windows, but I am voltage limited. Anything over 3100MHz gives artifacts in Fire Strike etc. I think if I could add more than 1.1v the chip is capable of more.

Artifacts are almost entirely related to an unstable mem OC. Luckily F@H is vastly more dependent on Core OC rather than MEM. Putting your card on water and removing the fan wattage obligation and at times underclocking the mem creates a slight improvement in the core OC capability. I have not been as zealous with F@H as I used to be, but with 2080Ti's I would tweak every last drop I could out of the core.

Memory OC does nothing on 40 series.

Best bet is to find the highest achievable core clock with the lowest wattage usage and voltage, that still gives close to stock or slightly better PPD.

Keep the cards cool and the power down a bit and they go like crazy

Already posted in Discord but why not here. With the Galaxy 666 power limit bios, and my card at 2940MHz all day in Linux Mint, I did 36m a few days ago. Yesterday was only 33. Also, Avacado I have the memory at stock so you're probably right and it doesn't affect PPD.

Question: can different 18601 units put a different load on the GPU depending on Run, Clone and Gen?

Basically, most of the time until recently my card would stay around 62c, go down to 58c, then come back up to 62c, with 80% fan. Now with the same work units and same clocks I am seeing the card stay around 66c. If I unlock the power limit all the way and run a higher OC, it runs around 69c.

Essentially; card is running hotter than it has been since I started folding, all three fans seem to be spinning, they are at 80%, I'm wondering if its the units causing it or if there's something wrong with my card, because if there is then I won't fold.

It's possible. Another thing you need to understand is that 24/7 folding puts a lot of wear on TIM and pads. It is possible that they are drying out. There is a reason why there are a few days each month in the ETF to perform maintenance on your cards.

Oh, neat. I was in the Team Competition on OCN for many years (Brass Bottom Boys). I remember folding 24/7 for a year on an HD 6870 that got around 7000 ppd. I remember getting my first million after so long. Now I get million or close enough in 45 minutes. Lol

Had no idea we had a similar thing here.

I’d suspect bios

Just higher overall boost maybe? The boost on the 666 bios is noticeably higher than my stock MSI bios boost.

Edit: I mean 67~68C isn't that bad but I liked it better when it was 58~62C

I will probably take my side panel off, reboot to bios, flip the dual bios switch and then try folding at my old OC and see how much it heats up. If it's what I expect (58~62C) then I'll know it's the bios. If not, and it's hitting 68c, then maybe its the work unit. I'm just trying to make sure I don't have a defective fan or one of the fans is running slower than it was before. I suppose it could also be the TIM on the GPU or the thermal pads, as Avacado mentioned. It's been a long time since I repasted a card and they've only become more difficult to disassemble, I'm sure I could watch a Youtube guide but I don't want to do that and then make the situation worse, if possible.

Alright @keeph8n , your theory was correct.

It's the bios. At the same overclock and power limit settings with the master MSI bios, I get this:

107513736_Screenshotfrom2023-01-2716-58-57.thumb.png.2f66a776e569f65cdfdc768700de53c1.png

Card is running and jumping between 61c and 60c, sometimes dropping down to 47c and then coming back up, and these clocks and power limit on the Galaxy bios were running at 67c.

So now that I tested both, I know there is nothing wrong with my card or it's fans or thermal paste or pads. It's just that bios. Thank you. You have been repped.

So no more 18601s all day or what?

I'm getting other units all the time in the last two days, completed 45 WUs yesterday (my record) but only made 30m points...

seems like it

So yeah, a few days ago I ran my card in Linux at it's normal OC with mem OC so it was folding with core clocks of around 2955-2940MHz or so, and the RAM was 12210. Those 2 days I  did 27-28m points. This is folding almost nothing but project 18213. The last 3 days or so I just OCed the core to the same clocks but left the memory at stock, and I've done 30m. It seems like memory overclocks on the 4090 do not help and may actually negatively affect your points. I think @Avacado and @keeph8n are correct.

ExtremeHW is 15th in Points Production  over the last 24 hours and that only includes a portion of the Foldathon points, that is awesome.  Even more awesome considering the small amount of users compared to a lot other teams up in the top 50.

The team here is great, really chewing up the competition!

My total points for all teams puts me at 87th and 19 billion points in the fah stats!
