[Official] EHW Contest Giveaway: Best $1500 build specifications - Vote Now!

Recommended Posts

Was definitely interesting seeing the different configs and strategies all around.

1. Fluxmaven - 7800X3D and 7900 GRE combo with great aesthetics. A build that gets cool aesthetics without sacrificing budget for RGB and other things to get top tier gaming CPU/platform and a solid GPU.

2. Damric - 7700 and 7800 XT is a good combo, rest of build looks solid if you are into that "gamer girl" aesthetic. That said, definitely some money went into the looks hence the 7700 vs getting a 7800X3D.

3. Slaughtahouse - 7600X and 4070 Super combo is a good combo. Definitely shows the price of entry for RGB though since the CPU/GPU is definitely a tier below say Flux's build. Still, solid foundation.

#1 Fluxmaven

System should handle any & all 1440 games and most 4k thrown at it for several years which is what you want from a rig you're sinking money into.Upgrading the PSU later will support a later GPU which should give longer gaming life until the whole system gets      replaced.

#2 Damric

Solid sweet looking system that will work for the girls with the lighting on or everybody with it just turned off. 🙂 Should handle all 1440 gaming needs until it's time to build a new system and can easily & inexpensively be upgraded if needed until it's time to go with a new build.

#3 Sir Beregond

ANOTHER sweet AMD build but he had the nerve to go all air cooling (I chickened out on my sub)and that plus a 100 watt less psu let him get an extra GB of nvme storage.Again, all 1440 gaming and most 4k will be covered for quite a while.

Just an FYI, I went with the higher end cpu and mid tier gpu figuring that upgrades could be done a few years later if an entire new build couldn't be afforded. 🙂 That's why it has the 850 watt psu.

My top 3 picks:

1 - Fluxmaven: Top tier CPU, great color coordination on the parts, 7900GRE edges out the 7800 XT.

2 - Slaughtahouse: Most powerful GPU of any entry, probably the best 4K specs here. (even though the GPU has more ram than the system does, lol)

3 - Damric: Another great build as far as color coordination, only slightly edged out by Fluxmaven's similarly themed build specs.

Honorable mention: schuck6566: Probably overkill on the CPU for a gaming PC 🤣 but almost picked it anyway. This would be the best workstation-gaming combo build.

I really liked all of your builds. It really was hard to narrow it down.

lol,I was gonna go with a lower end cpu,but the 7800x3d was only $5 cheaper.🤷‍♂️

Makes sense, but you don't need a big cooler for the 7800X3D.

Just a note, any feedback about this contest is appreciated. We may do more of there. How did you guys enjoy it? How do you feel about the prizes? We could do more elaborate prizes, or more frequent contests. Any suggestions towards future contests, or if anyone wants to get involved in hosting, feel free to voice your opinions!

Might be too early but...

1. I think any prize you can provide digitally is great. Just makes the competition more accessible. So I appreciate that 🙂

2. Maybe a limit of one submission per user? I realize I am a culprit of multiple submissions... XD

3. Continue doing specific themes like you've done so. I think that makes it more unique and don't hesitate to get even more nitty gritty. Like best Intel only build under $600.

I'm even open to buying PC Building Simulator for a challenge if need be XD Much more cost effective vs. actually building PCs 😛

Yeah to be fair, the Arc build was more for the meme than a serious submission, though guess it could be applicable if you really wanted to. I wouldn't do it though. 😂

It was different for sure. Not sure about the voting for each other due to possible favoritism. Don't mind me, just the opinion of it.

A prize is a prize. Just as long as the prize is appealing, I believe it will become more popular.

Either way, I had fun and will participate in the next one!! And thanks for hosting!!

I had fun and it let me see what things were going for price wise compared to last gen and also compared to when I built my last system in 2019

The contest is now over.

The winner is... Fluxmaven! Congratulations, and thanks again to everyone who participated. I'm looking forward to having more of these kinds of contests here in the future!
