Netflix using UE5 for new show

Recommended Posts

Quote

The One-Year War will be coming to Netflix this October with Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, the gritty new film animated in Unreal Engine 5 that will add a new chapter to the storied franchise.

A new trailer was revealed during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, showing off battles between GMs, Zakus, and of course, the Gundam itself (or one of them, at least) along with an October 17 release date. It brings the franchise back to the wartime drama that defined the original 1979 anime, giving it a vibe similar to 08th MS Team and other stories set within the Universal Century's central conflict.

I watched Gundam a bit as a kid. Could be cool to revisit it. This is the first I've heard of UE5 being used for an entire film.

Side note: I had covid lately which is why I didn't post any news for a while. Was just too out of it. Better now.
