DRAM Calculator for Ryzen ( news and discussions )

Recommended Posts

I also noticed this with the version 1.7.3 as I tried to configure my G.Skill F4-3600C15-8GTZ which is a Samsung B-die module. The system would not POST after soft reboot and after long testing, I figured out the problem was with RTT_WR being OFF. When left to Auto, everything suddenly started to work on my Asus Strix X570 E-Gaming motherboard with Ryzen 5 3600 even at DRAM voltage of 1.4 V. Of course, Gear Down mode had to be enabled, otherwise BSOD.

GDM must be enabled due to the odd timings you have, anything that doesn't divide by 2 will need GDM for stability.

Again I'd rather see people test their luck with manual OCing than use the Calculator, it's not good and manual OCing isn't that hard if you do some reading in Integral's guide.

While the DRAM Calculator is not perfect, it certainly points you in the right direction, in my case it certainly has and it seems to for many others.

Dear Yuri,

Thanks for developing the RAM Calculator and it peaked my interest in dipping my toes in RAM OC. i have the attached pic ram and plan to tighten the timings, the safe timing booted well. any suggestions on tighter timings? 80d021e3660d.png

If you want tighter timings, click on "Calculate Fast". This will calculate a faster timing set and options. Remember that when calculating fast, do not just look at the timing differences, other settings may have changed as well and you will need to alter these in the BIOS as well.

Hi there,

I just picked up a 64GB kit of Patriot Viper Steel and Thaiphoon says they are Samsung A-die from 12/2020.  This sounds like a new chip from Samsung K4AAG085WA-BCTD | Samsung Semiconductor Global Website

They are 3600MT/s at CL18 sticks with an XMP profile. But for the life of me I can't get them to run stable at that speed.  I've run thru the gamut of options with vCore, vDIMM, VSOC and VDDP voltage, loose timings and ProcODT settings.

I'm not new to RAM overclocking, but I was hoping someone has experience with these and could offer some suggestions.  I know Dual rank x 2 channel will be a bit harder to push.  However if I can just get it stable at 3600, I'd be stoked.  Right now I can get them to the Windows desktop but my video keeps blacking out and blinking. Either I have to shutdown with Alt+F4 or power button.  Its stable at 3333 CL18, but I just gotta have a little more.

I'm running an Asus Strix x570-I Gaming with Ryzen 2600 and GTX1060. Right now voltages are vCore 1.35v, vSOC - 1.05v, vDIMM 1.35v, cLDO VDDP - 0.900v.

Thanks in advanced for your input!

Have you tried the new Beta BIOS for that motherboard ? Looks like the new 1.2.0.0 AGESA is now available which will undoubtedly have some RAM related improvements. Might be worth a go before chasing anymore rabbits.

I did advise this to the creator a while ago.  Has there even been any new versions of the calculator ?

I don't think so, it looks like 1.7.3 released 5/14/20 is the latest.

I could be wrong but I think the DRAM Calculator has been put on the back burner in favour of CTR.

Even though your motherboard chipset is not supported, you can use still use the DRAM calculator as a rough guide.  You will want to select the B350 chipset on the calculator as that is the closest generation wise to your A320.

Not had any issue with it. If you are wanting to stay safe and for your own peace of mind, just use the "Safe" settings.

Any chance that this software gets support for DDR5 RAM/Zen 4 AM5 in the future?

Correct me of im wrong but I thought that tool stopped being supported? I have not used it for a good while now so the publisher may have updated it again but development for it went quite for a while.
