How to participate:

During the competition you must be folding for Team 239902

Mind the EVENT START TIMER as it is UTC time zone.

 

Note: Stats are updated as soon as possible, but less frequent than desired. Just keep folding!

 

Folding is stressful on hardware, and will often break an overclock unless it's been tested with folding. I do not recommend overclocking high end GPUs as the power draw can be extreme while folding. If anything, try tuning for energy efficiency. Casualties happen and EXTREMEHW can not be held accountable if you destroy your hardware while folding.

It looks like this is the final folding blowout for EXTREMEHW.

 

I need to go ahead and say a few words. First of all, this site has been a blast for me. I'm thankful for @ENTERPRISE inviting me here from overclock.net. Thanks to @BWG for getting me, just an enthusiast overclocker, interested in some crazy stress test benchmark called folding@home. Thanks to @Avacado @axipher @zodac @firedfly for getting me up to speed on that so I could help take over for BWG as I stumbled and fumbled through the learning. We had some very good foldathons and put up some huge numbers for such a small team. Thanks to EVERYONE who folded with us at EXTREMEHW. Some of you were very dedicated up until the very end, crunching the hell out of some work units. I also had a good time benching with you fellow overclockers on HWBOT. Also as a very small team we put up insane numbers and collected a ton of cups and medals.

 

Where do we go from here? Well I'm still active on the techpowerup.com forums. I plan on folding for them as a regular team member and I plan on joining their hwbot team. I invite all of you to follow me over there, as it's one of the last good PC tech forums still alive. For those heading elsewhere or retiring, I hope we meet again!

So I went digging and found all the remaining EHW stickers I have. I had these printed before the official merch store opened and have given them away as folding prizes on several occasions. By now just about everyone that folds regularly or I've shipped anything to has received one. If anyone doesn't have one and would like one, slide into my DM's.

Unfortunately, I have to sit this last one out because of travel, and having joined the Techpowerup folding team. I can change my team number back to EHW, I just won't be here for a week to change it back.

Do you use the newer V8 Client? If so you can log in from wherever and change the team back. This could very well be our last foldathon so it would be great if we could get everybody to fold.

Will try getting the v8 client on both rigs and change teams back remotely after the foldathon, as suggested.

 

Just been so busy benching lately, and I gotta travel to California for a week on Sunday and meet bridgypoos extended family.

V8 client installed. Love that I can see the log for both systems, and especially with my main system in Linux without having to type sudo xed /etc/fahclient/log.txt

 

Will hopefully be able to change teams for the foldathon and then change it back to TPU afterwards.

In for the last hurrah then back to TPU to watch Big Red pass me a ludicrous speed. I have to admit that of all the teams I have folded for this was the most fun. I agree, this site and community are great and the foldathons were something I looked forward to every month. I brought it up at TPU but it doesn't seem like they are interested in doing it.

 

This site will be sorely missed but thankfully will continue on on Discord, I highly suggest you join if you use it.

Yes Sir I know who you are! I started folding for TPU back when 8800 gt. 9800. and 9600 gso cards were the ticket - that I could afford. I had 1 bedroom that was empty that I had motherboards on empty boxes folding 24 - 7. I had a 600 dollar electric bill 1 month and had to cut back some. Buck was the King back then. I noticed when he came back that interest went up. I believe that the guys folding over there were 24-7 guys that were doing crunching also. Those guys are just not watching the forums. I will get hold of them and see if we can drum up some interest in the Foldathons. I am sure there will be. They are a bunch of great people and I guess why I was happy over here because the interest was up. Get interest up at TPU and make it great again.

You guys better check your identities cause someone is using a 4090 maybe with my identity. Not complaining at all but theres no way I can put up the numbers that are showing up. Wished I could afford a 4090 but bank account says no way. Thank you to whomever is doing that.
