NVIDIA to launch GeForce RTX 3080 SUPER and RTX 3070 SUPER?

RTX 3080 Ti/3060

It is rumored that despite preparing as many as four new SKUs, NVIDIA is already looking forward to launching another two high-end SKUs. As mentioned before, NVIDIA is currently focusing on two SKUs: GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3060. The latter is expected to make a debut in late January and we actually expect NVIDIA to talk about this SKU in the upcoming news conference, currently planned for January 12th. The high-end GeForce RTX 3080 Ti SKU is now expected to debut in February, possibly after the Chinese New Year.

The configurations of both graphics cards are already known but have not yet been confirmed. The RTX 3080 Ti is rumored to offer 10496 CUDA cores and 20GB of memory across a 320-bit interface while the RTX 3060 would be NVIDIA’s first 12GB model in this generation. This graphics card would also be the first to feature GA106 GPU and 192-bit memory bus. NVIDIA is also planning RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3050, both were originally planned for January, however, we have not heard any updates from our sources on these SKUs in the last 2 weeks.

Again, If true, Nvidia love screwing their early adopters.

I don't think it's intentional.  They only do these when AMD matches Nvidia's performance.  They have an obsessive need to always be on top....so they release new cards to beat AMD.  If AMD could someday beat Nvidia to launch, it might put an end to this.  Or would AMD then do it?

I think this is because the 3000 series was supposed the have more ram to begin with. I'm sure Nvidia always planned to hit their ram target with the 3000 series even if that means a second revision.

That said, as other have pointed out elsewhere, it will make it awkward if they release a 3080 super and a 3080 to with the gap between the 3080 standard and the 3090 being so small.

I think the Super series was always fairly pointless. Sure I get the whole, filling a gap AMD cannot but it is such a small gap and seems to only serve to annoy those who adopted your tech during the first few months. I digress.
