I did. Lol. It has the mounting plate in between, and I had that sideways. The block was oriented proper, but when I rotated the mounting plate to fix it, I just didn't think about the block fin orientation at the time. The flow is like double now. 

 

Temps dropped 10C when I started tweaking the PBO too. I even got them lower which I'll post below. I guess the defaults in PBO pump 5950x power through the chip? Still working on getting those settings stable and balanced. +200 Mhz right now. Geekbench went up 1200 points on single core performance.

 

Gimmie some slack. I'm 42 with 4 kids 21, 18, 4, and 1.

I would have though manufacturers would key the plates in some way so you could not put it in the wrong way, seems like a missed opportunity to stop consumers being dumb dumbs ?

Alright, I've played around with the PBO and All Core Overclocks quite a bit. I'm figuring it out, but when I use PBO, and AMD Overclocking Auto Voltage, the voltage is a bit ridiculous! 22% usage and 2 cores boosted and it's averaging 1.465v.

 

My MSI MEG x570 Ace turns off boost if I manually set the voltage, so what's the key to reducing max voltage?

Have you given CTR 2.0 a try yet?  ENTERPRISE and I just haven't had a chance to yet.

Hmmm but you dont want to disable the boost element otherwise CTR would not function, so leave voltage alone I would think and just use CTR to adjust the voltages to avoid silly spikes.

Also I've noticed that Folding@Home is bar more better for detecting bad overclocks than Prime95, I just feel bad wasting CPU Work Units sometimes, but pretty sure it's not going to affect the overall project when it's once and a while for stability testing on a machine that will be folding 24/7 afterwards sometimes.

I'm not gonna derail the other topic, but I have ran CTR 2.0 RC3 multiple times and my conclusion is the program is far to buggy for Zen3. I have yet to get the program to apply any overclock it deems stable. The window just either bugs out and doesn't show the tables at all after tuning, or it just closes before I can even check, especially if you post results automatically. The c20 results were lower than my PBO OC too. So, I'll just hold off before trying it anymore.

Hmmm possibly an environmental variable ? I only say that as I did not run into the same issues BUT let's face it, it is a release candidate so it will be buggy and will be more susceptible to certain environments. I am looking forward to it being out of RC.
