Folding Team Competition?

Nice, definitely interested in this. One other thing I'll add: as a OCN TC vice captain and folding editor over there, we were just starting to talk about different ways to balance teams up until the most recent platform migration, which put a stop on most developments. I know it's been mentioned a little in this thread already, but maybe even just re-organizing categories could be useful, something like a Tier 1-3 system and maybe split between Nvidia and AMD since the bang-for-buck between the two isn't very consistent. I think once the questionnaire gets a lot of replies and we see what pool of GPUs we have, that conversation will be a lot easier.

Yeah, these category balancing discussions are always super fun man!!!  I've got data compilation on my list to do. I personally would like to wait, compile, compile ppd #'s, then make a separate thread to discuss it with Prospective Captains and Former TC Members. I tried to PM every user that ever participated in TC today on OCN, and after typing them all in, I was greeted by the 5 user limit. So, since you do the FAT Group, if I just do 5 initially, then can I add as many after that as I want to?

The limit on PMs is a real joy.  It's been a bit since I sent out a bunch of PMs on OCN, but I I think I can PM 25 users at once.  What I did was split up my list into chunks in a text file, and then just copy/paste the broken up list into however many PMs I need to send.  I don't remember hitting a hard limit, but it has been 8 months since I did that so not sure on any changes that might have happened since then.

Oh yeah, it's 5 now. I even have the perms. I'm going to do 5 now and see if I can just add more after it's created now.

Yep, like I mentioned in the actual conversation I didn't realize you could actually add people after. Not sure if it will let you after you create a group of yourself + 5 though. Actually I'll try adding someone right now...

 

EDIT: Nope, doesn't let you add anyone beyond the original 6.

Well, every TC Participant up until I left got a PM and then some. Also, every active folder on OCN who's folding name matched their OCN Nick.

@BWG Really nice to see you taking lead on this and getting the ball rolling.  Although I tend to fold 24/7, summer is generally limited to just FaTs so I gave up on TCs a long time ago.  Also my participation level tends to ebb and flow with whatever else is going in my life, so I might be super active for a week or a month and then disappear for 5 months....lol.

 

I will dedicate my rigs to OCN until I hit 1 billion, after that I could switch my rigs to this forum and help move it up the ranks...

Same for me! I hope there will be a class where the 1660ti fits in, that's one of the cards that could run without heating up the whole house
