  1. IDK why the boot manager sometimes goes to a different drive when you install windows with more than one drive installed but its super annoying. I usually install windows with only one drive installed for this reason.
  2. I know what type of person I am... The type who really has to hold back when a best buy employee tells me that NVME and SATA are the same.
  3. Hacker returns $600 million in cryptocurrency that he had stolen (guru3d.com) Supposedly they hired him.
  4. New zero-click iMessage Pegasus attack can blast right through iOS 14's security protections WWW.TECHSPOT.COM Last year, it emerged that Facebook wanted to buy the infamous Pegasus spyware tool in 2017 with the explicit purpose to monitor iPhone and iPad users. Pegasus... What a time to be alive.
  5. Sorry to quote you twice but I remembered I happened to see this video not too long ago:
  6. I've heard a little about it this idea, I don't know much about it but I'm not sure there is much to know yet for us laymen. https://www.nasa.gov/directorates/spacetech/niac/2012_Phase_II_fusion_driven_rocket/
  7. I don't think consumers are going to care about pcie5 for a while. Gen 4 matters for SSDs that can keep up with any potential PS5 era games but beyond that, I don't think it's going to matter for a while.
  8. Probably wont make any difference, but you may want to try the actual realtek driver instead of the mobo driver for your onboard audio. This is the right driver for your mobo: PC Audio Codecs > High Definition Audio Codecs Software - REALTEK WWW.REALTEK.COM
  9. Where are you getting drivers? Are you trying the motherboard manufacturer driver for the audio? Have you tried the realtor driver?
  10. Yea man, I had an RX 480 I sold on ebay that get returned as defective, seemed to have taken shipping damage, and I didn't do anything with it until the GPU shortage and mining craze hit and listed it on ebay as defective and it sold for more than when I had previously listed it as working. On top of that, I was able to get my current RX6800 GPU at MSRP and my used 1080Ti sold for more than I paid for my new GPU.
  11. It will be really interesting to see how this does against DLSS. Given that this is will be the newest architecture to have AI upscaling hardware, Intel may benefit a lot from seeing what the other players have done and building on that so I wouldn't be too surprised if this was superior to DLSS when it launches. Supposedly this will work on Nvidia and AMD hardware as well.
  12. National Ignition Facility experiment puts researchers at threshold of fusion ignition WWW.LLNL.GOV On Aug. 8, 2021, an experiment at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s (LLNL’s) National Ignition Facility (NIF) made a significant step toward ignition, achieving a yield of more than 1.3 megajoules... One step closer to an ignition device that can some day start a fusion reaction that will give clean and cheap (not counting the research to get there) energy to the world. As I understand it, what Lawrence Livermore Labs is working on will someday be the 'on switch' for something like the massive ITER experiment currently under construction. More about that here:
  13. Siberian wildfires double greenhouse gas emission record: This is how they look from space | Space WWW.SPACE.COM Wildfires in Siberia have emitted more carbon dioxide in two and half months than the world's sixth most polluting country emits in a year. A little off topic from the normal news here but interesting stuff. his article has a lot of good info on not only the Siberian fire, but other fires happening around the world. I saw on a different news source that the Siberian fire is larger than all the other fires happening in the world right now combined. I live in CA and it's very smoky here right now. This is a video from this article showing one of the California fire from space.
  14. I'm not looking for one myself, I just think everyone's story about how they got a GPU is potentially interesting these days.
  15. What did you have to do to get a 1080Ti?
  16. Are you looking for any advise on overclocking?
  17. What CPU are you using? Doing any overclocking?
  18. Is that the only real new "feature" to talk about? The only thing I find interesting about smart watches is the bio-monitoring capabilities. Are there any new features in that direction?
  19. I feel like a smart move would be to invent in AMD, Intel, and Nvidia right now since they will basically be the main companies driving mainstream AI hardware over the next decade, or so it seems. They all have a lot to gain from designing hardware that caters to AI going forward.
  20. AMD Aldebaran: AMD's first MCM GPU will launch later this year | TweakTown Looking forward to seeing how AMD and Nvidia will compete on AI features like DLSS over the years.
