  1. New machine learning-based cheating may threaten competitive play WWW.TECHSPOT.COM Despite being illicit in games, and even illegal in some countries, the cheating industry has developed immensely, creating multi-million dollar businesses. You may think cheating is lame,... It looks to me like this AI basically just plays the game for you so IMO, I'm not sure it would be all that fun to use even for cheaters. All the player has to do is move around and the AI does the aiming and shooting. Still pretty interesting.
  2. PUBG uses ring 0 anti-cheat, I suspect that's why it bans people running on an unsupported OS. I would assume the other games also use ring 0. As for windows 11 itself, I don't see any reason to be excited about it. Usually a new version of windows has more to differentiate itself from the last version but win11 just seems like it's intended to run better on ARM, which is just not something I really care about... Unless they release windows 11 on phones. They haven't talked about this yet to my knowledge, but that seems like the route they should want to go in especially if it can really run android apps successfully.
  3. The Hubble Space Telescope is facing its most serious glitch in a decade and NASA really wants to fix it | Space WWW.SPACE.COM But it isn't the sort of fix that should be rushed. Sounds like the Hubble telescope needs some computer repair. Note: the title was reeeeeeally long so I shortened it. Original title: The Hubble Space Telescope is facing its most serious glitch in a decade and NASA really wants to fix it
  4. Newegg launches PC building service for an additional $99 WWW.TECHSPOT.COM For an additional $99.99, Newegg’s ENIAC Assembly Service will build your rig and submit it to “quality... I charge $120 for that myself.
  5. I think the biggest target will always have the most vulnerabilities generally speaking, something that has been said by security experts. But I think it's true that a lot of servers running linux do get breached these days as well. Perhaps Amazon servers get hacked all the time and they just have a good back up system. When it comes to ransomware specifically, a good back up system reduces the threat down to just an annoyance.
  6. Well windows is the biggest target. It wouldn't make sense for them to target anything else to the same degree with their goals, right?
  7. Source: AMD 4700S desktop kit is really a PlayStation 5 SoC without the GPU | TweakTown Interesting that consoles are so similar to PC now that we are seeing console hardware release in a PC. I wonder if it's possible for anyone to figure out how to unlock the GPU.
  8. Stuxnet! There is a really good documentary on this called zero days.
  9. Yet another wake up call for US businesses when it comes to cyber security.
  10. Nice. Tell us what you think of 4k gaming once you've gotten a chance to play around with it.
  11. Source: End-user manages to install FidelityFX Super Resolution in GTA V and shares it as mod (guru3d.com) Neat, wonder if this will get modded into any other games.
  12. Is this going to be your first time doing any gaming on a 4K screen? What GPU do you have?
  13. Glad the site is back up. Bummer about the former admin but I'm sure this will just be a road bump in time. Spill the tea, who was it?
  14. You should try using your warranty anyway if it was only 5 days or so after it ended. A lot of the time businesses will still cover it if the product died so close to the warranties end date.
  15. Facebook Will Begin Serving Ads Directly to Oculus Quest Headsets - IGN Exactly what we all knew would happen to Oculus eventually.
  16. You might get close to 60 at times but definitely not in any complex scenes, but it's not a fast paced game so lower fps is not too big of a deal.
  17. I keep my task bar on the left side of the screen like some kind of psycho. This new task bar make me uncomfortable.
  18. Msfs2020 is sorta like Minecraft in the sense that there is no goals so you have to make your own fun. Fun things to do: fly the 747 off a runway it barely fits on Mess with weather settings Set up engine failure and try to do an emergency landing Find really cool places to fly Try to land the smaller planes in weird places like the tops of mountains The landing challenges are fun but don't bother with the bush trips. Fyi, there is no way ur getting to 60 fps in 4k max even on a 3080ti.
  19. First time seeing this thread. My experience with the RX6800 has been pretty good. One game had a texture flickering issue that I was sort of able to fix with a mod but other than that it's been pretty solid. A few trade offs vs the Nvidia control panel settings but nothing major.
  20. From Software: I wish they would make a new Armored Core game.
  21. Not going to format this like a traditional news thread since it will be full of different sources and reveal/info videos. Feel free to add whatever E3 info you think is interesting. I will be adding info as it comes out.
