  1. I do so miss that Case Labs s8s. I should not have sold that one.
  2. I can send you some if you like, it will change your life forever. It's requirement for a test bench.
  3. Screwless MOBO standoffs. Because using screws to secure your MOBO to the chassis is for losers.
  4. There comes a point where you need to decide to surrender or fight through the pain regardless of your limitations. I do understand that there are some disabilities that are indeed crippling and life altering. But that's the point, if you are disabled beyond repair, you need to adjust your life as such and stop trying to get back to a point which is unobtainable. There are reasons we do not like to prescribe narcotics long term besides addiction, first an foremost is Hyperalgesia. Long story short, the longer you take pain medicine, the more pain you have. I have DDD too, underwent three back surgeries, PTSD, Significant TBI amongst other things and I hurt everyday. I do not let this define me or prevent me from living the life I want to lead, no one here should either. I am not trying to beat you up here, but people who are not medical rarely understand that the solutions THEY think they need to get better often is completely backwards and undermines the road to recovery. I have had the pleasure of talking with many of you about your medical conditions and I am grateful for that, I know most of you struggle everyday, so I am sure I might take some flak from this. Take heed though, I have been in medicine for 20 years and I will be able to argue out any counter points at length.
  5. There are ways to circumvent bad WU's though this is really frowned upon because all of these units and research categories need love. If you get a bad WU, you could in theory make an unstable OC which would result in a failed checksum at your checkpoint interval and lead to a failed WU. This would cause the client to request a new WU from the assignment server. Again, very frowned upon and you should not do this because it hurts F@H as a whole.
  6. It's kind of funny how it works sometimes and no WU's are guaranteed even if preference is selected. It merely "Requests" units of that particular research, it does not mean they will be given. You are going to see different kinds come through and there really is nothing you can do about it. WU 18601 is the cream of the crop right now. It's weird that you are folding an Alzheimer's unit, but it says your contributing to Project 18449 which is Influenza (Unselectable in preferences IIRC).
  7. Switch preference from "Any disease" to "Alzheimer's" Folding@home | Statistics STATS.FOLDINGATHOME.ORG Folding@home Statistics
  8. There is a lot I would like to say here, but it isn't my place. I will say that like E, I am stoked at all of the enthusiasm for merch and new content which was sorely missing as of late. @ENTERPRISEis the boss and this is his intellectual property. If you sent him a PM, he will always respond in his own time, not necessarily the time each of us may desire. You have done a lot of solid work here, don't rush the process.
  9. Wish corrupted and the opposite happened, you have gone back in time and landed your first gig in a shitty movie.
  10. Wish granted. Due to corporate acquisitions, the best game developer also designed that motorcycle and it requires the rider to sit on a long rubber toy to start. I wish I have time to volt mod my GTX 260 before the tournament finishes.
  11. Apparently so. EK-Quantum Delta² TEC - Thermoelectric Peltier cooler for Intel LGA1700 platform – EK Webshop WWW.EKWB.COM The EK-Quantum Delta² TEC is a 3rd generation CPU water block combined with a Peltier element - TEC plate. It's designed and engineered for high-performance cooling and advanced overclocking... I will guide him as best I can, but this is a unique role and if he's going to be a "customer", I'll build him whatever he wants even if it's against better advice.
  12. So I have been PMing this guy over discord. He is going for an intel build. Has a 13900K, 4090, 7200MHz RAM and a 1000w PSU in hand. I told him the PSU might not be enough considering he wants to run the EK TEC on his CPU. I am sure you can all imagine the Case choice he wants. All WC parts are on the EK configurator because it was easy and to his credit he mentioned other brands that he knows are far better. I will work with him and if he decides to pull the trigger, I can meet him over a coffee or something. I am not doing anything at this point that I wouldn't already do for any member on our forum by helping make solid build suggestions. We shall see. I will most likely ask him to join EHW if this goes well, so i'll try not to beat him up too badly.
  13. You're damn right it is. Good idea though. I am going to probe him via PM for a bit and see what he has in mind first.
  14. The second part is true, I have no intention of quitting 9 years before retirement and government pension. Though I do NOT know this guy and he has 1 post on OCN and a direct PM to me asking if I knew anyone local who could build a custom loop (Yes I do, Me). If it were a member I knew, I would be fine going to their house to help or complete a build, however I agree with Ultra in this situation as I don't know him from Adam and I would like to have all of my resources available when building. Next logical question, how much would you charge to build a full custom loop from scratch? Do you make the customer show up with all the parts? I could potentially generate quite a lot of profit using materials I already have (Tubing, fittings, rads, coolant, etc...)
  15. Please see the poll. I was PM'd by a new member on OCN who lives local to me asking if I knew of a person near by that could put together a custom loop build. Before I respond, I wanted to poll your thoughts and perhaps get some insight on risks. Would you agree to do this and expose your home where there is quite a vast array of tech that could be stolen (If I met the wrong person). @UltraMega I know you run a business, would like to hear your thoughts on this too.
  16. This is really cool. Please though, make sure that if you are reaching out to these vendors/companies that you do not mention EHW in your request and that you are doing so as a private citizen. Some of the companies on your list (Corsair, G.Skill ,TT), I already have PR contacts with and would be more than happy to reach out for merchandise like this if it is what a majority wanted. I could surely use help in petitioning companies for PR contacts and if it is something that you are serious about at some point we could talk with Enterprise. As you noted, it can be very difficult to actually get a working contact within a company.
  17. Yea, EVGA has fairly new 2080Ti's on B-Stock for $450 right now. https://www.evga.com/products/ProductList.aspx?type=8&family=GeForce+20+Series+Family&chipset=RTX+2080+Ti
  18. He's right, a used 9900K still goes for about $300 USD on ebay. I know because I needed one about 3 weeks ago.
  19. Spreadsheet for the upcoming Foldathon will always have the user list from the previous.
  20. Sick brother Noah. Don't think I didn't spy your new pink F@H stats tracker. +1 for the gamer girl of EHW.
