  1. That was fast. That guy did ask for permission to use the video and he put in my statement verbatim. So good deal.
  2. Thanks Flux. Don't know yet. I was able to drive it home. Will take it to the repair shop Tuesday. My guess is well over 5k in damage.
  3. Jesus. yea that's rough. I love your commentary in the last video! No one can insult someone quite like a Brit.
  4. Luckily I'm not in Oklahoma. Again, it just started to drizzle and the roads were not wet. I must admit, I was not expecting these comments from ALL of you. Good to know there are a bunch of puritans on the road who never go over the limit. In no state that I have ever lived in would a cop have handed a ticket to the person who got hit by the person that was supposed to yield on green for the left. On a side note. I spoke to my insurance company which hers happened to be the same. The claims agent told me that she filed a claim on her vehicle saying that it was hit while parked at her house. She ended up filing a false insurance claim and the company is going to take action against her. Unless anyone else plans on airing out their dirty vehicle laundry in this thread I suppose I'll delete it as all it's turned into is a Avacado was wrong thread. I've told you all, maybe I could have been doing a few miles less per hour. That didn't happen. I was not sited for reckless driving. In North Carolina, you have to be doing more than 30 over the limit and 10 over the limit for speeding. I do value all of your opinions, that's why I posted this as we are family. But I can't believe the stances you guys are taking here. Thank you all for your contributions.
  5. @UltraMega Went back and checked google maps just to make sure I wasn't incorrect. Here is a street view of the posted 45 about 200 yards from the intersection.
  6. My first thought WAS to aim behind the car, but unfortunately there was oncoming traffic on that side. When I began to approach her, my line of sight behind her to the rear was blocked and I wasn't going to take the chance. I knew I was going to hit her. I had hoped the lady would see me and swerve right to correct her path. You are right, had I braked not swerved I might not have clipped her.
  7. I'm 0/3 here. Three of you guys commented and all three of you are making me feel like I did something wrong here. There was a VERY light drizzle, the road had not become saturated and there was no change to responsiveness in the steering. I can't be the only one who drives 4-9 over the limit and doesn't feel like a criminal. I have a clean driving record, never been given a speeding ticket. I've been in 3 accidents all of which were just like this one. Are you really comparing me to a 16 year old here? I did account for the lady, I saw her. She decided to turn as my vehicle was just about in the crosswalk. I'm a pretty alert driver and I don't think there was anything else I could have done there. She just didn't see me, even though I was 25 FT in front of her when she turned.
  8. That's fair. I grew up driving along the capital beltway. You ain't speeding unless you are doing 10 over the limit. Cops don't even pull you over either. I mean the cop looked at the video and didn't say a thing about speed.
  9. Yea, I know I was going faster than the other cars, nothing I would have gotten a ticket for though. The lady probably shouldn't be behind the wheel I think she was 80+ years old. This is the 3rd time I've been in an accident and all three times I've been hit by someone turning left though my green light. It's quite annoying.
  10. It's a commercial stretch of a 2 lane road. Limit is 45. I wouldn't have even been down that road, but the normal route to get to my daughters daycare was having some construction and was backed up.
  11. Speed limit on that road was 45. I was doing 52 and ended up at 54 through the intersection. It was a hit and run because the lady fled the scene. The cop eventually found her because she never came back down the road. It's a good thing too because the video never saw her license plate. If I hadn't called the cops she would have gotten away with it.
  12. So, this happened on the way home from work today. I thought I would make a post about it for everyone to share the BS of accidents. P.S. It was a hit and run. The police later found the car and I'm pressing charges. I initially started to swerve right because I thought the lady saw me. By the time I realized she was committed to the turn it was too late. I had the green light. I literally installed the dashcam 2 days ago and glad I did. Sad thing is I just got the car 3 weeks ago after trading in my truck. I'm beyond devastated. I'm so mad that I don't even feel anything right now. Anyhow, feel free to share your accidents here.
  13. Dude, this is the reason I sold all of my threadrippers and abandoned the F@H projects. I could not get anything running right on AMD.

That's it. Perhaps I just couldn't figure out the SMB shares (em0 to igb0). Honestly, I don't have a clue about this stuff. Either way, I don't mind waiting the extra few seconds for transfers. I'm old and nothing I place on the NAS is usually more than a few hundred MB's. I do appreciate you all chiming in. It's a total new experience for me. OCing, sure, building, anything. NAS, total idiot. I do plan on someday making a NAS out of SSD's and when I do, I surely won't be using gigabit ethernet. At least I know where to come ask for help.

I don't know the exact mechanics of it, but after installation of the NAS OS, if you go to operate it on a NIC that is not similar, you can't connect to the drive no matter what you do.
  16. They totally have it wrong. That last image is of ACU's not BDU's. Sigh. Battle dress uniforms were jungle colored (Green, brown, black) with the pattern of those arctic and yellow ones above.

    FreeNAS Server

Yea, I have no idea. In my hours of searching google for an answer, I kept reading that in order to recover the data, I had to run a similar NIC to the one previously. Which would explain why it failed to connect to the NAS when I tried with the 2.5GBe Strix. If SSD's ever get to the point where I can buy volume for a decent price, I will for sure upgrade off 1GB NIC.
  18. Jesus. Are you backpacking through the Amazon?

Yea, I'm thinking of backing up and updating the software. I won't be swapping tech out though. I don't think I would benefit from a 2.5GBe NIC anyways. Kind of limited with the HDDs. Yea. I'm running Intel, but damn if it didn't give me a heart attack.

Well, I did try to install an LGA 1700 Strix with a 12100f, but the FreeNAS software doesn't work on the 2.5GB NIC

So I had a hunch. Recently I stripped down the streaming rig OS. SUPER THIN. So I re-installed windows and everything works again magically. No idea what happened. Just glad it's fixed.
  23. Right. E-Cores disabled. People are already doing this on ADL. Just look at the intel open compo. No mention of voltages or temps. I would need to take a look at the CPUz main/mem tab to really get a feeling for how it will be. Synthetic benches yet to be challenged as these chips no longer have AVX512. It's going to be interesting for sure.
