  1. Well thanks for the heads up. Bought 3 30g's as well. It says lasts for 6 months, but I have to believe if stored properly it can last longer right???
  2. Yea it does. Jan, where did you get that 4x SSD mount?
  3. So the delidded chip functions. I have begun prepping the motherboard with conformal coating around the 4 cooler mounting holes that will also cover with thermal tape. I have struggled with a mounting solution for the EK Velocity 1151 block that I intend to use. I will have to use nuts on the reverse side of the board for the block standoffs and there is no room for a silicon washer, hence the conformal and thermal tape as there are traces that would be contacted by the nuts. I completely covered the QX6850 in conformal and will drop it in the socket to test contact with the EK block. Once I can confirm it makes contact with the CPU, I will apply LM and secure it in place. 5mm spacers seem to be a good height to prevent any bowing or loss of contact mid block to the CPU itself. I will add pictures tonight. I will also delid one of the Q9650s and have it ready to test as well. I envision a hybrid design with hard tubing for the CPU/NB/SB/Mosfet and RAM water blocks with Koolance QDC's to soft tubing for the rads. It should be a pretty wicked rev 2.0.

    Liquidhaus

Lets give a big welcome to my man @LiquidHaus ! This dude is a building/modding/engineering legend and I personally am grateful he has joined our community! There may or may not have been a bribe to have him grace our site with his holiness. For those not familiar with his work PC porn, check out his site: LiquidHaus WWW.LIQUIDHAUS.COM LiquidHaus
  5. Remember how depressed you got when you logged in after singing along to the dial-up connection sounds and not hearing "You've got mail"?
  6. I would have loved to have that as a kid. Luckily I had a friends who's father was in IT. I would go over all the time and he would let me take apart his 386/486 machines while his own son played with nerf guns outside.
  7. Looking Shweet! Yea, the bottom run is a bit tall. 5-10mm should fix it right up.
  8. Oh, I miss Winamp. It kicks the llama's ass. My stuff isnt as old as your cases, but hey, ive got one. My oldest and favorite has to be Sid Meiers Getttysburg. 97' the good times.
  9. I know @PCSarge has a 1x he's using as a paperweight for his desk.
  10. Surprised you didn't go with the carbon fiber ones from MNPCTech. Carbon Fiber PC Cable Combs WWW.MNPCTECH.COM Carbon fiber conducts electricity. Carbon fiber PC Combs are intended to "dress-up" individually sleeved and insulted cables that are visible in your computer. Not for use on the backside of your motherboard...
  11. But, it's got what plants crave. Now go away, batin.
  12. Are you really surprised though if it's true? NVIDIA PR rep: "After a quick google search, it appears they all want 1000w custom bioses for our cards" NVIDIA Engineer: "Hold my 3090"
  13. Maybe, maybe not. Intel has been out of the HEDT space for awhile. The 3990x Is a 64 core chip. Losing in some benchmarks with 8/16 cores/threads more. I was under the assumption that they had a dual socket board in the works for the next gen TR's though. 128 cores. That would be nasty and more than a down payment on a large house.
  14. *Sigh. I'll be looking for these used on ebay to torture in a decade. Though if I ever win the lottery, everyone on this site is getting a new rig.
  15. Here at work, when clicking on a notification, it actually shoots past the comment you are looking for down to the end of the page (Past Video's). Not overly annoying, but still happens.
  16. God, I knew this and totally spaced. Lol
  17. Hi and welcome to the forums. I am not sure what you are asking here. The next AMD CPUs will be socket AM5 and none of the current processors will be compatible. If you are asking if a 3400G would bottleneck next gen AMD or NVIDIA GPUs, the answer is yes.
