  1. Well now that I have 800mbps down internet vs the 32ish I had before, I think I will finally grab FS2020. Can I get by with a Logitech joystick?
  2. Yeah I agree. Just wondering the next logical architectural change for Ryzen. I could see a push for more core count given the lack of really continuing to support Threadripper platforms. As for how good Zen 5 is, probably depends on where we land with TSMC 3nm.
  3. Stock JEDEC for DDR4 is 2133 I think.
  4. Nice job EHW! You really knocked this out of the park. See this is why I am content to see what the next series brings. Maybe by then I can join you guys folding. Just don't have a spot to run a rig continually right now. Not with these space heaters anyway.
  5. Yeah, Zen+ right? I imagine that would be lower than what Zen 2 or 3 FCLK can do which is why you are probably seeing it more stable at 3000 for the memory.
  6. Might be a dumb question but what is the FCLK set to? I had random freezes and slowdowns when I accidentally decoupled my FCLK from memory frequency. My RAM was at 3733 (1866) but my FCLK was still at 1800. FCLK on auto sure didn't see my OC settings. It should for normal XMP, but just thought I'd ask.
  7. Welcome to EHW! Folding, HWBot, etc. we do it all!
  8. Yes, this is true. Still I do like seeing 4k results too just to get an idea of how minimums perform. Really the only Zen 4 X3D part I find of any interest will be the 7800X3D. I see where the split CCD's might benefit someone like @J7SC_Orion where they can still provide good productivity performance as well as gaming performance boost, but from a gamer only perspective, why mess with parts that have to work right in the Windows scheduler, and have cross CCD latency penalties? Clearly the 7800X3D will be the one to get for gamers. I'd be really curious to see if Zen 5 increases the core count per CCX. We went from 4 in Zen 2 to 8 in Zen 3. Would be nice to see that double again. Imagine a 12 or 16 core Zen 5 part but that's all on one CCX on one CCD. No latency penalty crossing the Infinity Fabric between CCD's and you could have the 3D v-cache on higher core parts without this split CCD's you're getting on the 7900X3D and 7950X3D.
  9. Man that 556W though. This 350W-400W 3080 Ti already acts like a space heater. My goal is to see what the 50-series ends up being at this stage for 4k120 and power draw.
  10. HWBot is where you get points as part of a team for benchmark runs, overclocks, etc, for different categories. They have competitions too. This is our team page here.
  11. Been looking forward to this one Pio. Good review.
  12. Not surprised about the Optimus. Mine took a bit to ship, and definitely a bit longer than it said.
  13. Tell me about it. So much still unplayed in my library. At this point, most of my purchases have been things I can play with the wife. So easy to buy up more in the Steam sale that will sit unplayed for a decade (in my case ).
  14. Hope to join you guys in a future comp when I have a space I can run rigs for this. Knock it out of the park everyone!
  15. I am guessing this is still true with Zen 4, but one of the tricks that can help get a higher score on my Zen 3 system was to set the Priority on Cinebench in Windows task manager Details to "Realtime". The other trick on my Zen 3 system that @J7SC_Orion made me aware of was disabling the L1 and L2 prefetcher in the BIOS, which gave me another multi-core score boost. I am guessing this might still be a thing on Zen 4. Worth checking these out if you haven't tried yet.
  16. I don't know, Blizzard these days... I am not invested in Diablo either, but I do get it as well. Just saw the micro-transaction cancer that was the mobile Diablo, so I wondered what was going to happen with IV.
  17. Same core count as a 3070. What a joke. So it'll be 3080 performance probably at $750-$800. Really moving the needle there Nvidia. Didn't the 3080 MSRP at $699?
  18. I still say AMD is sandbagging pretty hard by waiting till April to launch this, but guess that's how they push more 7900X3D and 7950X3D on gamers who don't need them. 7800X3D should be a a monster, plus no scheduling issues like its bigger counterparts.
  19. Such an interesting concept moving the modular ports. Its always been one of those things building where its hard to plug some things in (or anything in depending on case design) once the PSU is installed. Here it doesn't matter. Another great PSU review Mr. Fox.
  20. Nice job man, seriously well done. And talk about a nice multi-core uplift. My 5900X tops out around 24.3k with some trickery.
  21. When you finally hit 40k:
  22. I can't for the life of me hit 55ns with my tuned b-die on my AM4 system like people say you should be able to. Best I have gotten to after some cleanup on Windows was 60ns, but there is definitely a lot of run to run variation with AIDA64. Likewise, I'm at the point where its just "good enough". Still curious to hear the experience from Zen 4 owners about cleaning thermal paste off this thing and how messy that is. Ever since I saw that IHS design I figured that was going to be a mess.
