  1. I have or had (don't remember if I still have it) an Asus Xonar Essence STX. Never could get it working on anything newer than Windows 7. These days if I wanted to try to get into audio again, I'd probably do a DAC/AMP.
  2. I always figured either it will stay 12GB or go 10GB. It's really puzzling how stingy Nvidia is with VRAM. Hindsight is 20/20 now that the gen is done, but it was rather strange how big a gulf Ampere started with where top end was 24GB and next one down was 10GB. To this day I wonder why they didn't go down the 20GB 3080 or 3080 Ti route with a 16GB 3070 / 3070 Ti. My tinfoil hat theory is as much as they tried to pretend the 90 cards are "Titans", it behooved them to try to get more gamers worried about VRAM buying higher up then they normally would in the stack.
  3. Google seems to suggest max memory support of 32GB in dual channel, so since you only have a single sodimm slot (single channel), I think 16GB is probably the max.
  4. Sorry, I was wondering what the "s.th." meant. I see that "s.th." in a lot of your posts and have no idea if that is an acronym for something. I know what you mean by slippery slope, and it absolutely is.
  5. See bolded. I see this a lot in your posts and always wonder what it is.
  6. Same. After horrendous experiences with MSI and Gigabyte motherboards in 2007-2008ish, I've pretty much been exclusively Asus ever since and have yet to have any issues with them. I have heard the horror stories of their warranty support though, so I do wonder when I'll eventually get hit with an issue. For now, everything is solid, knock on wood. Only Asus GPU I've ever gotten was the 980 Strix which still works fine, though was not OCing on air as good as some other models. Under water will have to play around with it again if I can find the block I had for it. Otherwise I was always more of an EVGA/Sapphire guy back in the day.
  7. Hmm will have to check this out, thanks. In RAM tuning I have been really struggling to get lower than 60ns latency (according to AIDA64). That's down from 62 after doing other optimizations, but man, cannot seem to find that 55ns people are saying you should get with tuned b-die and Ryzen on this W11 box.
  8. Saw 16GB sodimm worked from a google search to get max 20GB, but no idea about 32GB sodimm.
  9. Running 9 of the SW3 High Speed PWM's too. Good performance. I don't see a reason to upgrade them to SW4's. But I could see switching them out for T-30's if space permits.
  10. Well if you have review questions, probably talk to @Avacado. Keep in mind not everyone necessarily has the specific comparisons you may be looking for. In terms of SW3 vs SW4, I don't know. I haven't searched that data myself.
  11. I believe @PCSarge looked at the 140mm SW4's in his review here: https://reviews.extremehw.net/all-reviews/bequiet-silent-wings-pro-4-review/
  12. Yeah I've never seen one of their GPU blocks in person, but just seeing the pictures, they look like total monsters.
  13. Yeah like I said, excellent performer otherwise, just needs more maintenance. Well at least mine does.
  14. I have an Optimus AM4 block. Good performer, but restrictive. And although it doesn't actually have a jetplate insert, that slit in the acrylic that acts as the jetplate does get easily clogged along with those fine micro-fins. I don't know what it is about this block, but even though my Mayhems coolant is crystal clear, I find congealed bits of glycol in this block periodically. Just something to keep in mind for maintenance.
  15. I have to assume the difference here (score wise) came down to the 5800X3D over the 5900X if all other things are the same.
  16. Its nice because I can basically link the Octo and Highflow Next together via Aquasuite and create fan curves based on coolant temps.
  17. Man some guy on OCN was arguing up a storm about how he didn't want to use Aquasuite and do all the flow/temp control through AIDA64 and Fan Control with a Highflow Next he bought. I don't know...some people lol.
  18. Hmm...makes me want to pull my 4790k / Strix 980 back out.
  19. Aquacomputer Controller....Octo or Quadro maybe? I have an Octo and love it combined with the Highflow Next sensor in my loop.
  20. Will do! I needed some thermal paste to repaste my Dad's old HD 6850, then figured can repaste my stuff while I am at it.
  21. Yeah, I am still very curious to see how Windows scheduler handles two different CCD's.
