  1. How much did one of these run, and what is the ideal temp for acrylic? Been using the low setting on the cheap heat gun I got at Harbor Freight.
  2. Hopefully just a one off anomaly, but thought I'd mention it anyway.
  3. Very nice! Edit: This is weird, I was on @J7SC_Orion project Raven thread when I replied and it went here. @ENTERPRISE. This is on Chrome on my Android phone.
  4. Very interested to see how this goes!
  5. I would argue in the case of censoring that political decisions are often made in order to run a story or not because it might "put our side in a bad light", or that by overly sensationizing a headline for any given story a certain way (depending on who's running it), combined with how hyper-polarized both sides tend to be, it's rare to just be given facts to make an informed decision on vs "hey other side bad". All these media corps have agendas and in having said agendas, it influences how they communicate out information (or don't). YouTube is functionally the same thing as differing sides create echo chambers for their own bases and get all the subscribers and publicity. But even the corps that control platforms like youtube have clear political biases and agendas as well. It might not be outright "censorship" in the strictest definition you are using in terms of the law, but it's definitely something that majorly influences how the majority of people receive information, especially when you think lowest common denominator.
  6. I guess my thought is that the limiter only hurt the gamer who mined overnight or on the side to buy some games or what have you. These big operations continued to buy cards by the pallet load directly and they still get an ROI. Limiter didn't hurt them at all. Cracked or uncracked. Didn't matter.
  7. Ok I'll be that guy. Nvidia should not be artificial limiting the performance of their cards for any reason. I think its clear LHR did not do a thing to curb mining during the 30-series anyway. I say that as someone who doesn't mine, but as someone who recognizes that if you as a gamer buy a card and want to mine on the side...why shouldn't you be able to? At this point, cryptocurrencies just need to be forced off of proof of work mining because on the large scale its hugely wasteful of energy.
  8. Ok that picture helped a lot, and I am a bit surprised its not a regular SATA drive in an enclosure. Ah well. So are you trying to convert it into a regular SATA drive you can use internally? You'd probably have to daisy chain a USB 3.0 micro b male to USB 3.0 a female adapter and then can use a USB 3.0 to SATA adapter, otherwise swap out the PCB for a SATA one, if that's a thing.
  9. I agree with this. This is why I was opposed to the hash rate limiter. Once you have bought the GPU, what business is it of theirs to limit what it can be used for with arbitrary limiters? (making that distinction vs architectural decisions think Kepler vs Fermi). That said, Nvidia should absolutely be held to task on how much of its "gaming" revenue is coming from miners. Just like the Pascal era, they clearly had a higher than normal buy rate for 30-series because of mining which definitely makes a difference on long term financial projections considering the volatility of the crypto market and the profitability on mining.
  10. Micro Center here has basically had full stock of AMD cards for months. Nvidia cards maybe the past few weeks. Definitely a mindshare thing going on there. That said, the prices have only recently come down for both at MC. The AMD cards were like $1400+ for a 6900XT for a long time.
  11. Honestly why I was hoping they would just price point replace their corresponding models. $100 more for a 6950XT over the 6900XT for what that article claims is a 4% improvement is dumb.
  12. I have been using one of these so far and does seem to work, but maybe I am using it too much, seems to make sort of a v-shape on the tubing edge but the time the tubing feels smooth? Been using the sandpaper to kind of take out that v.
  13. Oh...good to know. I'll leave it be then and just keep with the sandpaper then.
  14. That is the plan, going to keep practicing and maybe I can get it right.
  15. Thank you everyone. I will take a look at getting that jig for holding the tubing and a small dremmel and see how that goes. I think I will also give that finishing bit a try. Supposedly can use it at a higher speed on the drill for making those small "cuts" and then of course normal/slower speeds for reaming/smoothing it out.
  16. Oh interesting. I was under the impression those cutters worked for PETG, but not so much for acrylic. I'll check it out. What are your thoughts on something like this instead of the sandpaper? Edit: As for the tubing, not to worry, I have 2 more boxes of it, and 1 more 1m piece in the first box. I've only gone through 2 meters so far. 7 meters total left to make these 3 runs.
  17. Awesome! Immediately had that welcome to rapture song playing in my head.
  18. That's the saw I am using now and linked above. Its the 2 inch mini bench top cut off saw. It does not cut all the way through the 14mm Corsair stuff either, which has been my problem with it if there's already a bend in the tubing. Can't exactly flip the tubing and finish the cut as the bends interfere with the housing.
  19. I just don't like that everything in our lives as consumers will pretty much come from a few mega corps. Having competition is good. Getting to the point of monopolies and other such issues is how we get crony capitalism. As for media, I left that train a long time ago. I neither own a TV or watch the "news".
  20. Something like this? Small Dremmel Ok, let me ask you this. If I were to grab a dremmel, what would be the best way to go about securing the tubing and making sure I get a straight cut since its more a freehand tool. Are you using some sort of clamp on a work table?
  21. So I need some advice. Now that I am hitting some tighter areas with multiple bends, I am actually having a hard time cutting the tubing with the room I have to work with. The hacksaw method sucked as it was hard to get it straight down every time and often ended up with an angled cut. Then I bought one of these from Harbor Freight which has mostly been good except that its just not quite big enough to cut straight through the entire tube...which becomes problematic if you already have a bend in it and flipping the tube around causes it to interfere with the housing of the saw. Is there anything better I should be looking at for cutting the tubing? I thought of maybe picking up one of those Bitspower drill bits for doing small cuts (and chamfer at the same time) once the tube run is mostly to size and just needs small adjustments. But I'm not really sure best way to go about doing normal cuts now. I know @Avacado, you usually know the best ways to go here. Edit: Its the white Corsair pmma tubing in 14mm.
  22. Agree with The Pook. The drive inside is already SATA. Just take the drive out of the enclosure. The enclosure is what is converting it to micro USB.
  23. Makes sense to me. This is a really nice sig rig system vs what used to be on OCN. I really like it.
