  1. Need to replace my fuel filter, fuel pump, injectors, wiring to all of them as well as radiator.... good thing it's been put away for the winter
  2. Yeah insurance is turning into more of a scam world-wide. What's funny is it's usually better in third world countries where it's often needed more.
  3. Metro Exodus has been probably one of my favourite implementations of Path/Ray Tracing so far.
  4. Are these at all accurate? I've always wanted to grab one for curiosity's sake... but I feel like a FLIR device will be more informative.
  5. Nothing really, the soft tubing helps of course but the whole thing is an enclosed block. There is zero flex because of the waterblock design but obviously as you can see it is tilted slightly down. Doesn't really bother me though. External cooling is a huge bonus IMO. Makes the inside of the case cleaner, easier and honestly the whole thing was MUCH less of a hassle to put together. It's not like my desktop moves around tons anyway, and having QDCs on the external loop makes it as easy as unplugging a cable. In the future I want to get an L-shaped desk (currently have the IKEA Alex+Karlby combo, want to get another Karlby counter-top and create an L shape from it). In where the two desks join I was thinking of making a "cool box". Essentially some spray-painted black or white plywood to house as much watercooling components as I can. The idea is to try fit at least 2x MORA420s with their own pumps and a single res in the middle. Then have an HVAC filter for an intake to try eliminate dust build-up... only worry is static pressure but that's for when I actually build it
  6. Congrats everyone, awesome prizes this time round! Next F@H I need to make sure that my 4090 doesn't lapse. Also looking forward to F@H in winter to help out with the heating.
  7. I'll lump into this because I've had some interesting things with my 4090. I have the Strix OC model and honestly just run it stock all the time. That combined with my 360 + MORA420 is enough to keep it comfortably around 40-45c under any stress test with the hotspot temp being around 5-7c higher than that. That being said, if I max my pump out to 100% from 60% I go down to 37-38c. So I definitely think these modern, denser-finned coldplates are a lot more restrictive. (I have a 7950X3D in the same loop as the 4090, both with Heatkiller Pro blocks on them). In the future I want to move my pump/res external so I can get it away from my head and turn up the speed while not being able to hear that awful coilwhine. For what it's worth, I also have the Cablemod cable - but I removed their shield thing as I found it made it harder to verify if the connector was 100% seated.
  8. Totally didn't forget to restart my folding client after playing VR for a bit
  9. Ah dang, just missed 100 WUs and don't think I was catching Fluxmaven fast enough.
  10. Going with my main PC and the HTPC. Added some fans to help evacuate the air from the HTPC... it works shockingly well.
  11. Oh I didn't even notice the similarity at first, but that's hilarious
  12. Took some nice pictures of my car after ceramic coating it. While it may look decent, there are some high spots on the bonnet and some light marring. Still need to polish it and use a proper ceramic coating.
  13. Do you notice a difference OC'ing the 4090? I found it didn't make much of a difference at the ~2850Mhz stock vs ~3045 Mhz +1100Mhz at all... so I left it stock.
  14. Yeah I thought it was going to be close between us, and then I checked later and you were miles ahead haha I only had a 1080 Ti and a 4090 mining.
  15. Got my 1080 TI and 4090 up, really neat to see how my 4090 is like 8+x faster than the 1080 Ti in folding lol.
  16. In, Alex_Blum As I won something prior - you can exclude me from the prizes
  17. Interested... but also not sure if this is going to go to the AirPods Max route where it doesn't really become as big as people think or the opposite like the Apple Watch where it quietly became super popular. I'm expecting the former, but hoping for the latter. VR is a good and fun tech, more players, diversity and public appeal is only better for developing it.
  18. Some amazing pictures! Something pretty awesome about a car that lets you go places like that. Have to ask... how is the reliability though? What have you had go wrong and what's the worst thing you had to fix?
  19. I got my 2x4TB SN850X's for CA$500 each. It's kinda neat upgrading from 128GB->512GB->4TB SSDs in 10 years, hopefully I can replace my storage with SSDs - but I'd want 16TB drives that are ~CA$500...
  20. Went to my mechanic to just do a once-over now that it's time to drive the car again, and replace the fluids as well. Good thing I did because where the axles bolt to the diff was dangerously loose... Much better... That explains why it was so terrible to drive... I thought the rubber bushings broke... Drincc well oil man Stock mounts don't look bad for 106k km and 17 years old;
  21. Nice, now hopefully its not too soft
  22. AoE2 has received so much love by the Devs that I think that deserves an honourable mention.
  23. Just got it - thanks! And thanks for helping organizing this event
