  1. Almost certainly not, the airbag/weight sensor in the passenger seat is essentially un-foolable so it would permanently be on... which is really annoying. I might consider it in the distant future when we have a house/secondary car though
  2. Installed a Recaro Pole Position seat on a PCI slider rail last night, it was a struggle and took around 3-4 hours of constantly taking it in/out and adjusting it. It's extremely tight in there and makes clearances really hard. The airbag/SRS light came on when installing even with the seatbelt sensor plugged it but I found out why, there's a magnetic sensor on the stock rail that's essentially detecting if the seat is in or not. I just need to transplant that to the new rail/seat. Problem is now removing it, the screw is a T25 (which I have the bit for) but it's made out of butter and it feels like the used red loctite on it. Tried heating it and being gentle with it, but almost stripped it. So just taking a break for now. Also learned that the light is on but the airbag will still deploy, it's just a warning that "something" is wrong with the SRS system. The silver bolts and green tape are temporary. Just waiting for some nice black bolts/washers to come from ARP. Also going to get a seatbelt extension as the oem location is *really* tight with the seat in.
  3. 8/8 core, 16GB, 256GB. Not a bad price, also got a $210 free gift card so yeah.
  4. Ironically I was super careful about brakes and I wanted professionals to do it instead of myself... lol. I do have all the tools to change it I just need to take some time to do it myself and learn.
  5. Gave the car a big wash today, started off with some CarPro lift foam to remove as much gunk (and old wax) as possible. Then moved onto using IronX to remove iron fallout (considering the brake failure that just happened) and cleaned the wheels too. Moved onto a wash with CarPro Reset with some lovely 350gsm plush microfibre towels. Once done I used an ultra fine claybar and some claybar lube to get rid of the fine contamants in the paint. Lastly once all dry I applied a nice layer of Collinite 845. I love this wax, gives a super great depth and shine albeit it doesn't last very long at all. I am seriously considering getting my car ceramic coated and just topping that up myself with something like CarPro Reload... it'll probably be quicker and more durable. Heck, if I still want I can put the wax on top of that even. Pictures of the washing process: After Pictures I also tried polishing the glass but it wasn't very successful, I think I might try again with more time or just give up and replace the glass (it's like $1200 though...) Pics of the thousands of tiny chips in the glass I also replaced the valve cover, spark plug cover and coolant resevoir bottle! I think the refreshed valve cover definitely looks a lot better than the old one. I didn't realise how bad of a condition it was in until I got it out of the car and put it side by side. 6. Yeah... I just changed them to Goodridge stainless steel brake hoses and DOT5.1 fluid. Upon replacing the calipers it seems fine so hopefully it wasn't the brake hoses.
  7. So on our trip to IKEA yesterday after around 20-30 mins trip I noticed the car was being a bit odd, but given how utterly terrible the conditions of the roads are it's hard to diagnose if it's the road being awful or if something is amiss with the car so we continued on. However, a few minutes later when we pulled onto some decent pavement I definitely thought something was amiss, the FL tyre felt different and acceleration was noticeably slower and the brake pedal getting firmer. Then the brake burning smell hit us and I saw a slight wiff of smoke. I pulled over and found out my FL brake was ever so slightly stuck and the pad was starting to overheat. The wheel/tire was very hot but not too hot (around 60c or so, I could touch it for less than 1 second but it didn't burn me). I managed to take the car back to my mechanic (around 30mins away) with frequent stops to cool down the brakes, luckily no real damage was done and I ended up getting new front calipers for within 2 hours. I kept the pads/rotors on and they don't seem warped or damaged. I'm glad I ended up getting some Hawk HP+ pads and DOT5.1 fluid that could handle the extra heat. Here some videos: The new calipers (oem reconditioned but painted black):
  8. I've been using EK Cryofuel clear for the past 2 years without change in my system. It's held up really nicely. The only issue I have is all my WC stuff is copper except for my GPU block (nickel plated, which of course is ever so slowly coming off). I really want to get a copper-only GPU block next time too so that there's zero mixed metals in my loop. (Well except the brass fittings but I've never had an issue with those).
  9. Found the source of my very small coolant leak, it was a busted overflow res cap. Replaced that as well as all the other bits around it the past weekend. Sadly the bottle itself was on back-order until August so just tried to give it a clean with the pressure washer but this stuff was baked on there. Shouldn't really matter IMO. Also gave it a wash and guess I warmed up the tyres enough to leave slight marks on the concrete lol. You can also see my headlight clear coat starting to peel if you look closely... need to replace them with OEM units before it gets much worse. (Also those meaty front tyres).

  11. Went out yesterday to take some nicer pics, the whole album is here: imgur.com IMGUR.COM Imgur: The magic of the Internet Here's some that I like:
  12. Is it honestly worth removing the coil-overs (or any other thing that might degrade) to store inside while you wait? Also de-humidifying the interior (if you remove the seats to preserve the leather)?
  13. Gave the S2000 a proper wash and wax today, it does need a cut/polish and ceramic coating in the future... the paint might look good but it's getting a bit rough.
  14. Thank you, I try haha. This was just with my iPhone 11 - I have been wanting to get a somewhat decent DSLR for ages now as my ancient D60 is really on its last legs. That does look interesting but to be honest for now I'm going to leave what I have (apart from replacing the bushings/mounts in the future). I want to take the current setup I have to the track (Toronto Motorsports Park) and get comfortable with it before deciding what mods to do in the future. I have a feeling it might be better brakes rather than more power though.
  15. It needs a bath but got some Titan 7 TR-010s on with AD08Rs, plus a laundry list of things done at the same time: New OEM friction disk ACT H021 pressure plate 8lb ACT Prolite flywheel New master and slave clutch (AP1) cylinders Braided clutch line Braided brake lines Replaced brake fluid Replaced engine oil Replaced diff fluid Replaced trans fluid HybridRacing detent springs Front/rear subframe rigid collars Billman GenX TCT
  16. Shifter rebuilt, replaced all the plastics and rubbers around/in it too and even more Honda urea grease slapped on (after the old one got removed). Also slapped on some Shin Etsu grease on any rubber bits and plastic clips in the center console and engine bay. All the rubber hoses and wiring got a nice coating of it. Also replaced the front bumper black inner trim and rubber and put on some (Spoon lol) front radiator stays because why not, the original one was looking a bit tired. Got to clean out a bunch of sand from under it too. Before After

  18. Also got these, best part: paid cash. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/408687042474672128/970124666226245642/IMG_0471.JPG
  19. Yeah I wouldn't trust a (cheap) impact driver to tighten lug nuts especially if I'm taking it to the track. I need to torque the lug nuts to around 80-90lb-ft if I remember correctly, so I got this: Amazon.ca Something Went Wrong / Quelque chose s'est mal passé WWW.AMAZON.CA
  20. Got myself a long reach, low profile floor jack, best part: paid cash. Also ordered some jack stands and a 1/2" torque wrench for the wheels.
  21. Car is finally out of hibernation! Also put on a new AEM filter (dry flow) vs the KN one (oiled). Apart from the red matching the valve cover better (which I still need to refinish) it's nice to not have oil slowly coating the inside of my intake. Set up my radio (loses all the settings in hibernation), it's nice having it the same color as my cluster. Also took the chance to check the oil, clean all the aluminium bits around the car with some flitz (door locks, ac lines, abs unit, etc) My clutch master cyl does need to be replaced, glad I'm going to be doing it soon: Also the floor mats finally arrived:
  22. It's really not that scary at all, the kits make it so much easier to delid these days. To be honest I was quite disappointed with my delid + copper IHS. I maybe dropped like 3-5c per core at most. I do think it looks *really* good though, I do love some raw copper look.
  23. If you're really high up in the ladder often your salary is mainly made up of stock bonuses/monetary bonuses/etc. So this isn't be surprising to me.
  24. My 9900K has probably got to be my least favourite chip oddly enough. It's been finicky to overclock, puts off way too much heat, barely saw any benefit to delidding it + copper IHS and aged really fast (IMO for production means).
