  1. Thanks for the additional info. I will update this thread with the specs of the proposed machine, however from what I can tell, it should be powerful enough. So I took a look at the intel X540-t2 and lots of results on Ebay over here, ultimately looks like I can pick one up for around £60 which is not all that bad. The overall rigs will likely cost about £70, so around £130 for the entire setup. I am just looking for it to sit between my main ISP router and my switch as the filter as it were. So a 2 port NIC should be more than enough. Ha, I am no network wizard. I know enough that gets me by, but it was never a pathway I was hugely interested in back in the day. I am far more interested these days however.
  2. Great, thanks for the suggestion. Gives me a clue on something tried and tested. Nice, thanks for the suggestion, will keep my eyes open. Yeah they will be. Unfortunately for me our incoming internet is nowhere near those sorts of speeds haha.
  3. It must just be that. Nothing else BIOS wise would be incompatible . Not like Windows needs its own microcode....yet.
  4. You have the "Hide all rigs" button in the signature area which will you can select, this will decrease your scrolling on mobile
  5. Nice, would explain those crisp images. Oh right, wait, what do you find limiting about Rig Creator ? Feedback is always appreciated
  6. What makes it a Windows 11 BIOS, other than just making certain options enabled by default ?
  7. This has now been fixed. Info in Overclock and Other fields now show properly. You can see mine here : https://forums.extremehw.net/profile/3-enterprise/?tab=node_rig_Rigs
  8. Hey guys, so I am possibly thinking of doing this whole Pfense thing...or opensense (whichever makes more sense...no pun) I have a spare SFF PC hanging around which meets the specs for either solution. As it is an SFF I know im limited to two ports per expansion card so far as a network card. I can likely only get the one card in there which to be honest should be fine. Any recommendations on a 10Gb RJ45 network card that does not cost the earth ha.
  9. Omg I had a case like that back in the day. So much plastic lol. However mine had these "bubble" looking cold cathodes on the front of the case . Back then...it was so cool.
  10. Looks so good man. What rig is running those sweet screenies ? In fact you could pop your rig in using Rig Creator
  11. Maybe I need to try Windows 365. However unless I am a company that needs high performance computing but can only afford low end PC's....I do not see many use cases for Windows 365. Maybe im missing something.
  12. Noticed a small bug whereby the info input in the Overclock and Other fields shows in HTML format if a user clicks on "Full Rig Info", reported and should be fixed soon.
  13. You cannot hide from me with small text
  14. Rig Creator 1.5 has just been released. Alterations to 1.5: * Overclock & Other fields to adhere to line breaks * Max Rig profiles to be increased to 8 * Decrease max image upload size to 1.5Mb * Rig profiles as shown in Rig Creator section to show 8 components as per signature. * Add a "Show in signature" checkbox to rig creation form. * Make "Show all rigs"/"Hide all rigs" in signature on non dark theme more visible. A share function has also been added, however this still needs some tweaks. The Overclock & Other info fields now feature proper editors, as such you can now input all your information in all its properly formatted glory Rig Creator 2.0 to be developed soon. * Rig Of The Week. This will be a widget on the homepage and possibly other areas of the site that randomly chooses and showcases a rig for a week. * Rig Albums. Rather than being allowed only 1 image upload per rig profile, we will increase this to 10. The user also has the option for the images to be shared in the Rig Creator album in the site public gallery * Rig profile download. This will allow a user to download his their rig as input on the site (Components Fields, Overclock info field, Other info field and uploaded images)
  15. Very cool indeed. I see no reason why this could not be adapted within reason to find anything. All it needs is the initial training which is what they had to do in order for it to carry out the detection of sunken ships. The applications are exciting.
  16. Banned as im tired and run down. So everyone else should suffer.
  17. Ha yeah, there is some seriously fun nostalgia right there. I remember increasing the FSB via a jumper...those were the days.
  18. I think any GPU released for the next while will suffer from availability and pricing issues. The MSRP for this though, pretending the world is normal, is not too bad.
  19. Look at the BIOS chip on that thing lol. Really takes you back. I can still look at that and remember "The cutting edge" performance and excitement. I guess one day I will look back at my current rig and feel the same.
  20. Documents for Rig Creator 2.0 submitted for development. Development should start next week
  21. Looks really good. Looks like UE has pulled it off again. Proof will be in the pudding once its fully optimized. These new engines are really helping to make consoles shine, with a little hardware bump too of course.
  22. @Avacado is about to bring the beat down !
  23. So far as I know, TPM is simply a security handshake upon boot. There is nothing to inherently run or be processed. So there will not be a performance hit. So realistically, no downside other than if you have no TPM lol.
  24. Glad you like. Thanks for all the feedback so far. Will be submitting confirmed adjustments and new features to our dev tomorrow for Rig Creator 2.0 to begin
  25. I think it is fairly obvious, though I did wonder in the beginning about adding a checkbox for this during the actual creation or a rig. I will add it to the list to look at.
